They’re in that cluster of teams that struggles to find talent outside of really high draft picks and that have an inability to attract free agents.

You have a team heading toward its seventh consecutive top 10 pick.

Since 2011, they’ve had 11 picks in the top-16.

They’ve drafted first overall once, and drafted second overall twice.

The most promising second rounder they’ve had in several years is currently playing for us, and the last guy they took outside the first round to play more than 100 NHL games was taken back in 2013.

In fact, since 2010, only two guys they’ve taken outside the first round have played more than 100 games in the NHL.
