Where the Boston Red Sox revenue stream falls into MLB and where the Penguins fall into the NHL are not the same
Yeah, and?

@ronduguayshair has an opportunity to be the guy that makes crazy signs.
Seems like every team has a sign guy at every arena. Someone needs to step up here

HAHAHA. Ouch.Don’t the Red Sox already have a AAA team like in Pawtucket?
Oh man, as a Sox fan who has seen a Henry run organization, good luck...

The only thing they know about hockey is that they pay Jeremy Jacobs every month for his stake in NESN and that they held a Winter Classic at Fenway and it made them millions of dollars.I guess the new management team hasn’t watched the team play this year.
Don't hold your breath. Long time Boston resident/Sox and Bruins fan. John Henry is cheaping out as RSox ownership found a way to get under the luxury tax. They hired nerd Chiam Bloom from Tampa Bay as GM, signed a bunch of also-rans and let Mookie Betts go.I also hope the billionaires treat us well
Our mod @Fenway can attest that what was said about Linda Henry is trueThis is such a weird take and sounds like uniformed gossip. Henry and his wife have been massively successful owners of the Red Sox and Liverpool. The Sox have the most World Series wins since 2000. The last part just makes you come off as some incel woman hater. Cringe af.
Uh uh - Sox ownership swung whichever way the wind blew, sometimes signing big name players to boost NESN revenue and other times bringing in idiot managers like Bobby Valentine to blow the team up. Whichever way the wind blows. Right now the wind is blowing cheap. Don't expect much. This is such a weird take and sounds like uniformed gossip. You're spot on about that. The only thing they know about hockey is that they pay Jeremy Jacobs every month for his stake in NESN and that they held a Winter Classic at Fenway and it made them millions of dollars.

Lemieux has been looking to sell almost since he bought the team.
He only bought the team because he didn’t want to lose the millions he was owed in bankruptcy court.
He wanted to save the team and all, but it was always about recouping what he was owed.
Just smart business on his end, but he was never in this for the long haul.
Things changed when they got Crosby, so he just rode the money train and now it’s time to get off.
he’ll remain on as a minority owner
Re: Geno and Letang
These are owners with deep-ish pockets. They are buying the team for money reasons. I imagine the sale price is tolerable and the future revenues make sense. They don't want to tank their brand name with the current and future fan base. One way to do that is not to bring back franchise generational talent Malkin and your franchise #1D who have been lifelong Penguins.
Those two are coming back. I would eat my shoe if they didn't.
I bet he's still cashing out the majority of his share.
So, the biggest complaint is that he’s found a way to keep the Red Sox competitive while not overspending?
