It's hilarious that some want to call out Sid and Geno, but stand by the coach as infallible

Huffing paint must be making a comeback
I don't think the word "hilarious" describes it. f***ing moronic is more apt.

Yes, two guys who've been elite and will go down as two of the greatest players ever are at fault, not the coach who had a 2 year window of "elite" performance followed by a half dozen year career of meh coaching.

The worship of Sullivan is beyond weird.

What ownership is Sullivan taking? I see quotes about struggling players needing to be better, but I'm not seeing quotes where Sullivan is talking about making their current system isn't working or maybe they need to try a different forecheck or defensive zone system.

Instead, it's just a lot of "we're taking responsibility" followed by him pointing out the play of struggling players.

For the record, I'm not absolving Jarry or Carter. They both suck and both can go ASAP. It's just the hilarity of Sullivan never actually addressing where HE has to be better.

I don’t know what game they’ve been watching that makes them think Carter has had “moments”.

I actually don’t think Carter has been bad this year, but he also hasn’t been good. He’s been completely invisible for the most part.

The same game they've been watching for years thinking we just need to keep playing our game and everything will work out.

If this team is giving up 4 every night playing "safe", I don't want to know how many they give up playing "dangerous".

It'd be kind of hilarious if the team gets all grim-faced and starts talking about big, earth-shattering changes coming and the media picks it up and runs with the speculation the next few days re: potential coaching changes, big adjustments to the system, trading someone like Raks or even Jake and it turns out all they do is bench Carter for a game and whine about what a heartbreaking and difficult situation it is for everyone involved.

Moments where the line was strong.

Nieto: 0-0-0 6 shots
Accari: 0-0-0 8 shots
Carter: 0-0-0 6 shots

Over 9 games. Sub 50% Corsi/Fenwick. Negative relCor%. Lowest shot attempts. Carter, few hits than Jake Guentzel or Sidney Crosby.

A microcosm of the team via Jeff Carter is "hey, this guy f***ing sucks and no one is doing anything about it".

Something is better than nothing, I guess. Hinostroza for Carter will make the team markedly better for six minutes a game, which is neat.

I seriously f***ing hate GCR. In every f***ing way.

I hate them at even strength.

I hate them when they're forced on the same PP.

I hate them playing for five minutes straight at the end of every game.

Wow lol…Sullivan is actually going to scratch Carter …that’s his big move to shake things up lol
Come on now... We've been begging for this for 18 months we might finally get it. It isn't Toe Blake back from the grave to coach us to a cup, but it's better than totally nothing... I guess...

Yeah I don't know what more people expect, short of Dubas firing Sully if this skid continues. There aren't really anymore buttons to press other than giving Hellberg more run.

Would love if Hino just took this job and ran with it, relegating Carter to a permanent 13th F role. Or at least until someone else in WBS flashes.

More window dressing. Everything else remaining the same.
To be fair, we're likely not going to be able to see any system changes if/when they are made until games, specifically with a forecheck/neutral zone setup.

And, let's be real, the biggest issue is consistency. So even if we saw systemic changes in practice, this question would still be can this team stick with it for 60 minutes? What about for multiple games?

I think we are getting exactly what we expected. There was just some slight optimism due to the addition of Karlsson. And by that I mean, people stated he would make up for the bottom six being so poorly constructed.

We can you know.. stop running a top line that is a net nothing.
