Acciari has 4 points. Sure, he may be a decent PKer, but let’s not act like there aren’t a legit 150 bottom 6ers who could replace him at an equal or better level. Not a fan of paying him $2M.

Yeah he is, I like him. I don't know what him here for $2mil for 3yrs.That's all fine but you need guys to block shots PK and do the dirty work.
The way L4 is constructed here I don't think your going to bring in too many guys that are going to light the lamp for you.
He's good at what he does
I mean sure but Kevin Hayes is a regular 40-50 point player making 7.2 million a year. That's a huge difference there. They're not even asked to be doing comparable things out thereYeah he is, I like him. I don't know what him here for $2mil for 3yrs.
I'm not trying to push him out there door but if there's an opportunity that comes up to send him out, 100% done without a moment of hesitation in my mind.
Like, a month or so ago someone through out Hayes for Acciari and the Blues fans didn't object. I would 100% do that because I think Hayes could offer more, overall, than Acciari.
Lol, I mean yeah obviously that's an extreme example but it did come up. I think if there was a decent 4th line wing and someone wanted to bolster their center position, I'd do it.I mean sure but Kevin Hayes is a regular 40-50 point player making 7.2 million a year. Hayes cap hit is only like 4 mil right?
Is he on retention?Hayes cap hit is only like 4 mil right?
Am I reading this right? Why do we have a week off randomly?
Some of our old guys can rest up because the Pens stretch run in March thru April is BRUTALAm I reading this right?
4 off days
2 games
3 off days
A back-to-back
4 more off days
+ 5 more off days for the All Star Break
If we weren't playing well it wouldn't matter and might even be welcomed, but this is probably going to kill our momentum.
Quirks of the schedule coupled with the recent reintroduction of the "bye week."Am I reading this right?

Per the NHL, "The NHL schedule will include “bye weeks” for each team for the second straight year and sixth time overall. For 2023-24, all “bye weeks” are scheduled between Jan. 27 – Feb. 13, which overlaps with a pause from Feb. 1-4 for NHL All-Star Weekend at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto."
So the Pens get the end of January off as their bye week, plus Feb. 5.
That line isnt very good as a whole. JC is costing us $446k per point lol.I thought Acciari was going to be a Plug+ type who offered glimpses of more and chipped in. Instead he is just a straight plug homie.

Yea... Well be like 10 points out of a playoff spot with like 8 games in hand.Am I reading this right?

I don't have a problem with the bye week. I think it's a good idea actually, but I don't think it should come so close to when they are already getting 5 days off for the All Star Break and I don't like the stop/start of it for a couple games here and a couple games there.Quirks of the schedule coupled with the recent reintroduction of the "bye week."

And people will still be on here freaking out that we're losing groundYea... Well be like 10 points out of a playoff spot with like 8 games in hand.
hungover already…does not bode well for tomorrow night lol
We’re like a 4-5 man offence. We can’t afford to play guys who only block shots and PK. And we doubly can’t afford to pay them more than the league minimum. That's all fine but you need guys to block shots PK and do the dirty work.

Or you look at how Crosby and Malkin (especially Malkin) have looked after rest and after long stretches of play, and you think “maybe this is when we go on a run.”Am I reading this right?
