Can someone explain to me why Steeler fans hate Tomlin? He seems to be a tremendous coach and your organization is run incredibly well.
3 playoff wins (I would say 1 was more a melt down by the Bungles than a win) in the last 13 years, much of which was with a still prime aged Ben.
As a 'defensive' coach, his teams have given up 40+ points to the likes of Blake Bortles and Baker Mayfield and nearly 30 to Tim Tebow in the playoffs. That's on top of regularly giving up 30-40+ to legitimately good QBs.
Hires the worst coordinators so he has a fall guy when things inevitable go bad. (IMO, this changed this year with their hiring of Arthur Smith. I don't think Smith is a mastermind, but he's a legit NFL OC. The problem is it took national embarrassment over Canada where people were chanting "Fire Canada!" at sporting events not even related to the Steelers.
There's a ton of things, but those are the big 3 for me. There are differences between Tomlin, Sullivan, and Bylsma, but all share 1 common thing. Big early success that tricked the organization and media into thinking they can do no wrong followed by long stretches of underperforming mediocrity.
