Way too risky for a team to pay that much for an unproven goalie.

Pens should just keep Blomqvist. He is very young so if he is the real deal in 4-5 years when they should be done their rebuild and he will only be 26/27 at the time.

It would be stupid to trade your goalie of the future at the start of a rebuild. Thus, it would take an overpayment to get him. It is unlikely any team would be willing to overpay for said goalie. Therefore, the Penguins will just keep him.

Yeah you have to overpay for players that aren't available.

It would be stupid to trade your goalie of the future at the start of a rebuild. Thus, it would take an overpayment to get him. It is unlikely any team would be willing to overpay for said goalie. Therefore, the Penguins will just keep him.

#2 - Penguins other goalie is Jarry so they cannot afford to trade Blomqvist without an overpayment

Therefore Blomqvist will not get traded.

While I'd be happy with Pettersson, my preference is someone signed beyond this season if only because we need a serious long term fit and I don't know if we'll be able to afford keeping him. Matheson is my preferred target, albeit only if Montreal retains for that very reason.

Would definitely like Eller though.
