Fun fact from Hasse about that first Karlsson picture. If you look closely, you can see that there is 1 locker room stall tag in the center of the room behind Karlsson. I don't have hugely strong feels whether it's Ruh or Smith. I generally favour the more experienced guy to bed in the younger guy but if they want to try it the other way, cool.

I would like a third pairing that is more than break glass though. Yeah, Karlsson and Letang can regularly play 40 5v5 minutes a night... but probably shouldn't. Karlsson and Letang can take all the hard minutes and let the third pairing be sheltered... but that's not an ideal use of elite offensive dmen.

Which is the big difference between Ruh and Rutta to me. Ruh did most of his work sheltered. Rutta didn't.

I'm not sure we have huge choices right now. But if there is a pairing that can do a normal functional third pairing's work, that's the one for me.

I'm thinking if Crosby was some scrub/bottom 6 player. he'd ask for this and remove some of his total compensation to leave the light on in his contract.
