I can't really see that. You'd think sports franchises would've lost value in this economy. But they've continued to explode in value. There's still mega profit to be had holding onto the team for several years.

The concentration of wealth and uber-elite has to be the reason. Sports teams are a prestige commodity and a scarce commodity. Billionaires get FOMO.

You would think that the fundamentals of owning the Penguins over the last 4 years are terrible, but FSG's stake is still going to appreciate.

I'd prefer Sullivan be fired about 5 years ago, and don't want him influencing the potential top 5 pick the team's gonna have in June. But yeah, losing is the goal now. Particularly for the 2026 and 2027 drafts.

Just hope he's gone and not coaching any potential building block prospects. I think it'd genuinely kill my desire to watch entirely if he tried to turn McKenna into Bryan Rust.

The same can be accomplished with Quinn as interim coach and then fired at the end of the season too.
