When is the last time the Rangers came from behind after trailing by multiple goals in the playoffs and ended up winning? I tried thinking of one instance in the recent past and I don't think they have. We all know how many times they have blown multiple goal leads. But they can never finish off a comeback.
Oh man you just gave PTD flashbacks of Kucherov beating Hank with a shot from Wichita, Kansas.

I remember talking about Montreal last year, and don't get me wrong, that team going to the SCF was a black mark on NHL history, but I looked at their lineup at the time and I said "you know what? They have 18 NHL players."

In these marginal games, not having bad players is even more important than having very good players.

Right now the Rangers have at least four guys who just jump off the page as not belonging on the ice in important games. I'm not sure you can say that about anybody in Pittsburgh's lineup.
In fairness, we are missing Goodrow, Blais, Motte and Lindgren.

Game 5 of the ECF in Montreal in 2014 played out similar to this one. We went down 4-1 and Hank got yanked. Then we came back and tied it 4-4 but then Talbot let up 2 and then an empty netter and we lost 7-4.

No. It isn't. It literally never is. I will happily let him walk after his deal and I felt that way when he locked up the vezina.
If that’s the case then trade him at some point in his deal for a massive return.

This team has never won a playoff series.

Of course we can come back . If it gets to that of course it's possible. But what happened in 2014 and 15 as nothing to do with now
Which is why I'm not getting worked up too much about anything. This team is a year ahead of schedule. You start asking the tough questions about the core when this team is shitting the bed next year and the following. This year is about getting the young core and the next wave playoff experience.

We're playing on house money. If anything, this series is helping Drury to weed out the weak links.

Nemeth? See you in Arizona.

Rooney? Bye.

Vatrano and Copp are gamers. It's too bad we'll have money only for one of them.

To a lesser degree, investing decently in a better backup than Georgiev is proving to be very important. Shesterkin has been painfully pedestrian in two of three games this series despite his record setting performance in Game 1.

yeah, that was very similar. But again they couldn't finish off the comeback which is exactly what the Rangers do in these situations

Ducking shoot the puck!!! Stop being Girl Scouts and finish every check.. ps KMA to woksters that have a problem with my Girl Scouts reference.. pee wee team would have played better!!

In positive news, Kakko set up what should have been the game winning goal in game 1 and scored a beauty tonite too.

Lafreniere largely invisible though.

Tell Kravtsov to book his flight. It’s our only hope.
Just imagine the Pens seeing him emerge from the tunnel with those dirty blonde locs flowing out of his helmet as he skates out in warmups, it would send shivers down their spines. Maybe this was the plan all along and they’re going to play a mental game by playing the Krav card when they least expect it.

Lundqvist had some playoff clunkers but seemed to always shut the door when it mattered. Igor has a chance to salvage this series but it has to start in G4.

Agreed, This is where he can start building his legacy. He needs to prove that he can put the team on his back and win a series. I mean, he doesnt even have to do it Hank style winning games 2-1. Igor is is getting 4-5 goals a game from the offence.
