Igor had a bad night but the Rangers can beat Pittsburgh with even decent goaltending.

the problem is we'd have found a way to play Rooney, Reaves, and probably Nemeth anyway. They play because Gallant thinks they're good and bring value.

Unfortunately the fact that we are struggling so much with Pitsburgh doesn't bode well if we by any chance do move on.

The league also likes having Pitsburgh move on. The Crosby story needs to continue. His playoff numbers need to grow as the poster boy of the league.

I disagree. They lost today because of goaltending and they have scored 12 goals in 3 games. Anytime you can make the playoffs it's a good thing. The experience will be invaluable win or lose.

Other than luck, I pin that loss entirely on Nemeth and Schenider. The operative phrase being AND SCHNEIDER because the pass he gets is ridiculous.

Even the goaltending...who cares? Analyzing your goaltending after a game is like analyzing a dice roll. That's why Shesterkin should be allowed to walk after this contract but we'll discuss that later.

They were also counting on their #1 and #2 overall picks impacting the game like most #1 and #2 overall picks and unfortunately that hasn't happened. Which really hurts right about now.

I stand by my thinking that us being as good as we were was a year early and surprise for the front office. I thought we would have been fighting tooth and nail for WC2.

It is not. Again it really makes you think about how to build a team. Again, nothing against Igor himself, just a general statement when it comes time to pay him 10 mill or whatever.

But It's also not good to erase our goaltending advantage by pulling him for Georgie

Nothing is more important than the requisite amount of young scoring forward talent which we currently still lack and experience can be acquired any year organically.
