Igor was tired, great comeback by an inexperienced playoff team.
Penguins shot their load. Rangers had their chances on the power plays, but sometimes it goes your way, some times it doesn’t. Don’t count the rangers out.
Personally I thought Strome was terrible tonight. On to Monday.

Shesterkin should be f***ing embarrassed. he lost us this game 100%. Nemeth is dog shit in hockey skates and Schneider is f***ing awful but this was 1000000% Shesterkin's loss.

I can't stress this enough but Copp is a huge liability defensively. He literally can't skate right now cause of whatever LBI he has. keeps us in our own zone for much longer.

Nemeth was -3 in a game with 3 5 on 5 goals. On for all of them. He should never set foot on the f***ing ice again and the fact that Gallant continued to send officer Doofy's brain damaged swedish cousin out there is mind boggling. Just HORRIBLE.

Schneider is horrible too and you all really need to stop pretending he's not. Nemeth is way worse though.

Where's all the energy Reaves had? Literally didn't hear his name once tonight?

I'm just gutted. This game, game 1, absolutely brutal losses. I can't believe I looked forward to this shit.

Getting the game tied to 4-4 and then getting 3 straight PPs and coming up empty (with Louis Domingue swimming in net) is unacceptable. This game may have started off as a loss but we should’ve won with game. We had all the momentum and we were carrying play, tons of chances. Zibanejad in particular really needs to find a way to score. He’s getting too many chances to keep getting stopped. Kreider too looks like his old tentative and in his head self. He doesn’t look like the Kreider of this season at all, looks like he’s overthinking everything like vintage Kreider.

Georgiev was fine overall but he gave up a softie at the worst possible time. Tie game there, that puck cannot go in the net. That’s who he is and you knew it was going to happen at some point it was just whether we were gonna have a lead when it happened or not.

Then again, that chance never should’ve happened. Nemeth was first to the puck and had enough time and space for a quick out or to at least move the puck to the boards, but he did the one thing you can’t do there and get beat and turn the puck directly over. He needs to be out of the lineup. He looks like he’s moving in slow motion and he was directly responsible for 3 goals tonight.

We need Igor to be better than this. Some bad luck obviously but he was fighting it that whole period. That 4th goal needs to be stopped.

Probably would have made sense but Shesty was not even close to acceptable today. I just don't trust the guy. I don't care that he has nice stats in the regular season.

Our best players haven’t cut it. I watch Colorado, Pittsburgh, their best players show up nightly. Where the hell is Zibanejad? Georgiev is a ****** piece of ****. Not more of a gutless player in the history of this franchise. No doubt his entire team hates him. DeAngelo is laughing. The betas are crying. Shesterkin could’ve been better, but Gallant should’ve gotten him back in there at 4-4. Their top guys didn’t get it done. Disappointing. Series is over. They haven’t defended a lock in this series and that won’t win. Special teams cost them too.

First two periods were the best hockey they played all series, despite being down 4-1. Igor wasn't good enough and Geo gives up the usual soft goal between the legs. 3rd period was horrendous, but I guess after such a deflating goal it's to be expected. Rangers are too weak on D and their top center has been sadly pedestrian at best. I can't stand watching Zibanejad getting pushed around like a bitch and failing to hold onto pucks, he's so pathetically soft in 1-on-1 battles. Whatever, just not the Rangers time I guess, they need a lot more firepower still.
