Nemeth is so so so so so bad... The pens 3rd pair looks like Orr-Leetch compared to him.
This game was very winnable with the 3 pp's but we just wasted it away. 2 games now we could've won.

This says it all. This game was like kissing your sister. We all feel good about coming back from 4-1 due to a combination of a disastrous first period goaltending but as usual our team doesn't plays defense and our coach is cool with that. Then after the tie we get 3 PP opptys and do nothing with them. We deserve to lose the game and the series. But I so hope we wind to get to the second round so the entire organization from Laffy/Kakko and Drury understand what needs to ne done to win in the playpffs

New game and we have the momentum.

Sure Geo let up a softie after our Neanderthal's 20th bad play but we scored ZERO.ZERO goals
I love vatrano but if he is our best forward every game we lose..
I get zib has defensive responsibilities but we need more. And kreider has been the most disappointing

I got my girl into hockey after we went to one game last year and one game this year. Her favorite player is Mika because I have a DJ Mika shirt and he had a hat trick her first game. Anyway…she went to Game 1, we went to Game 2 and then we watched Game 3.

Someone who has only seen a handful of games had some interesting observations.
-The refs and Penguins are cheating
-They called that on the Rangers but not the Penguins?
-Mika is annoying why did he stop shooting!
-Who is number 10? He’s frustrating
-The refs are cheating again
-How come this team doesn’t shoot?

It’s bad when someone who has no idea about the sport realizes the refs are ridiculous and Mika is playing poorly.

Time to end this run and gun game trading chances just because Domingue is in net. I think its time to get back to defense as the top priority, keep chances to the outside, and capitalize on turnovers and mistakes the other team makes.

I never like it when they are trading chances with guys like Crosby, Guentzel, Letang and Malkin on the ice.

During the bubble and leading into this playoffs everyone says if we lose it’s going to be because of depth and the kids. When are people going to realize we lose because it’s our stars and PP sucking?

Domingue deserves first star for making some desperation saves. Refs get 2nd and 3rd stars.

1. Anyone blaming Georgiev for that loss is an utter moron.
2. Might have been Shesterkin's worst game as a Ranger. While I think he'll have a great career, those who have already anointed him as better than Lundquist are nuts. Lundqvist was a monster in the playoffs. That said, Shesty has only had one bad game, so hopefully it's a one-off.
3. Nemeth really comes up small, often. Wish they'd give Jones a shot. Not sure how it would work out, but I think it's worth a look.
4. People popping off on Zibs are dead wrong. That line is getting lots of high quality chances.
5. The biggest difference in the series so far is that only one team has Crosby, and Guentzel is insanely effective.
6. Truly surprised that Pittsburgh is totally pounding the Rangers with almost nothing going the other way. Very disappointed about that.
7. Reaves had one period this series where he totally outplayed what I thought he was capable of. Since then, what happened to him? Zucker is a wrecking ball and those who assured me that that wouldn't happen with Reaves in the lineup still don't understand deterrence doesn't exist. Apparently, neither does retaliation. But Reaves has a great smile.
8. Strome has been one of their best forwards. He's elevated his game. Not too many Rangers have done similarly.
9. So many times in the last 20 years the Rangers have been outplayed and won because of goaltending. The pendulum sometimes swings in the other direction, now.
10. Goodrow is missed in games like this.
11. Motte would be such an asset in this series.
12. Gallant is not being outcoached. Only one coach gets Crosby.
13. I still believe the Rangers will win the series.

The Penguins scored 7 goals and deserved 1.

Other than luck, I pin that loss entirely on Nemeth and Schenider. The operative phrase being AND SCHNEIDER because the pass he gets is ridiculous.

Even the goaltending...who cares? Analyzing your goaltending after a game is like analyzing a dice roll. That's why Shesterkin should be allowed to walk after this contract but we'll discuss that later.

If you don't want to keep Shesterkin, you don't let him walk. You trade him.

The price for Nick Leddy was deemed too much. Braun was the consolation, and he’s not up to any sort of minutes. Nemeth is the real issue, and I don’t have the energy to repeat my disdain for him.

Get Lindgren healthy and get Zac Jones in.

Too many f***ing no-shows for us. Zibanejad was f***ing awful. Fox was terrible.

Is Shesterkin tired? I was listening to the Jeff Marek show on Friday. Elliotte Friedman mentioned Kelly Hrudey and Kevin Bieksa told him they felt Shersterkin looked tired to them in game 2. Elliotte didn't agree with them. Sheshterkin did look off today. He was not sharp. He looked a little tired. Mentally? Physically?

1000% he's tired, and the 3OT is only part of it. He's tired from bailing out the team for the last 8 months, which is exactly what I said would happen because this team doesn't play the right way.

Their third string goalie has made some ridiculous saves, makes the routine ones look easy, and zero softies. All of our goals are bang bang, deflections, complete screens….wtf am I missing here??? Even if Jarry is ready, do you even start him now? Ridiculous.

At this point, I'd take my chances with the Jones/Schneider.

Schneider will be so up and down at this point that he probably shouldn’t play all games.

Jones is ready and underrated. Being small isn’t stopping a single D out there in the league from playing in the POs, being too slow, not being able to move the puck, those are keeping a bunch of guys on the outside looking in.

I would like to see Jones-Braun. But it’s perhaps not time to get too cute, or Gallant make think so. Nemeth was just a bad signing. Hope there is accountability within the organization and we can learn from this. He was an analytics darling before coming here, but I’ve followed him since he was 17-18 y/o. He just don’t have much quality.
