TSN: Pearson traded to Pittsburgh

All for a guy who can't do anything Wagner couldn't while also gaining valuable experience at 25% of the price.

Sure, maybe Hagelin gets flipped for a 3rd or 4th at the deadline. But this team doesn't need cap space to spend on another vet next summer, it needs picks.

Blake has been a disaster as GM. Every move has been the exact opposite of what the team needs to move forward.

I was okay with Blake's moves last year. I was even good with a coaching change.

But getting older and getting a rental who may get flipped for a mid-round pick is the opposite of what the team needs.

What Pearson was dealt for should tell you guys exactly what the rest of the league thought of him. Nobody was offering futures to take on that contract.

This does clear up cap space in the long run. Now to see who’s next on the chopping block. This is only the beginning.

It's something at least. I like the idea of cap space being cleared if they have their eyes set on someone who'd make sense ala Panarin or Nylander. I wouldn't have minded Hagelin years ago but it is what it is. Hope he nets us a 3rd at the deadline. Now I hope Martinez or Carter is next.

The market for Pearson probably wasn't that good. Pearson makes too much cap hit and his contract runs beyond this season. At least Blake got out from under Pearson's contract which will give him a bit more flexibility going forward.

Hopefully, Hagelin will make a good showing for the Kings on the PK and on the forecheck. He will make a good insurance policy for a contending team at the deadline.

Keep it rolling Blake

Muzzin and Hagelin for Jost, Timmins and the Avs 1st?
Amart for Kaspanen
Carter and Toffoli for Pesce and Bean?

I’m just spit ballin and some of these are way off but that’s what happens when your team sucks azz

Outstanding trade!

The 3 worst players: Pearson, Thompson and Phaneuf must be removed any way possible. You can say "well no one else is scoring" when talking about Pearson,
but he was doing absolutely NOTHING, but skating around. Nothing. Is no longer fast and that was his main weapon to go with average other skills.
He has regressed terribly and was basically a 'neutral player' ..this is a player who is helping your team 50% and helping the other team 50%. This leaves
your team playing at 4.5 strength vs 5.5 strength and essentially 1 man down. I'm not joking...that's how atrocious he was. And 2 years at 3.75, the Kings
just cleared their worst contract for next year...Kopis and DD are so heavy, cannot do much about that, but clearing 3.75 of a player who is not as good
as Matt Luff? Outstanding. Do not blame Blake for just getting Hagelin. This is on Pearson, for being total shtttt.

But why not get a 4th for Pearson? How? Any team that will take that 3.75 million for the rest of this season, must clear about that much.
Hagelin is better than Pearson. 30 yrs old? Who cares. He will be gone next year...and he will skate and perhaps get back to his 10 goal, 21
assist year like last year - way better than Pearson could attain. See if Tanner can get 8 goals and 20 pts from here.

Next: Get rid of Phaneuf and Thompson. Wake up, rest of King players.

Give the Sabres a ring and see if they would be interested in a guy like AMart or Muzzin.

They have gotten off to a real solid start this year but could use some additional help on the back end.

I would think there could be a match for both clubs deal wise.

Or send Brown there...to his hometown....well, he's from around there, right? Sabres doing good and Brown can lead them like Williams is doing in Carolina. can get some young talent.
Would Brown and his wife and 13 kids go there? We love Dustin, but thsi Kings team is done.
Thanks for the CUPS! Nothing lasts forever.

Good move by Blake. Pearson was becoming a negative value player, and Blake unloaded him before it became obvious. Even if Pearson turns the corner, at best, he is going to be a 20 goal, 40 point scorer. At his cap hit, I would pass, especially considering I would not be willing to give him a long term deal when his contract is up.

Blake is either fully on board with selling this season, or he is clearing up cap space for a deal to bring in a player like Nylander or Panarin. I hope its the former.
