I was waiting to post this after the game 7 ends since like the fifth game but I forgot while going through emotions. Well, so long Sharks.

Hopefully, I'll remember it after we put away the Ducks :sarcasm:

Go Kings.

How did Greene play last night? I only caught the last 3 minutes of the 3rd period. I know almost everyone here was nervous that he was playing.

Oh, my:

The face of defeat.

I'm guessing putting Quick's save on Marleau wasn't getting the story across enough.

So, do we have a final tally on just how effectively Joe Thornton ate up Mike Richards? I mean, that was the narrative pushed the hardest by HF groupthink. Let's see the numbers.

Found it.

-8 over 7 games. -1 vs. everyone.

Clearly dominated. :shakehead

This chart tells me that everyone on the Kings except Kopitar should thank christ for how bad the Andrew Desjardins line played, because without that matchup to balance out their Corsi, they were pretty awful across the board.

That is the whole line not just Kopi.
But it also shows that Richards line was used in a shutdown role and even though they gave up the shots they did shut them down. Because even though they got the shots they didn't get many points. And we don't know how many of those shots attempted were blocked or missed the net.
It could look better almost across the board but I won't complain we did win the series with these numbers,

I don't really get the Couture for captain talk. How was he any less responsible for that debacle than any of the other top Sharks forwards?

Just to have this come full circle, some may remember this post I made in the pre-series thread.

quick backstory:

Our buddy Mitchell is a kings fan living in the bay area. He has gone to 12 Kings games (including game 4 of the finals) and has yet to see a single win. This is what happens when a sharks fan reminds him:

This series can't start soon enough

Well, last night he was in attendance. He knew what was at stake, but we agreed that 1 win would erase the 12 losses. Glad he can continue to go to games with us, because had they lost, I don't think he would have been invited anywhere close to a Kings game anymore!

Doughty is playing like Ray Bourque so far. If he can keep it up, he'll be in the Conn Smythe discussion with our big guys who are all playing like MVPs right now--Kopitar, Doughty, Quick are all that is man and we are lucky to have such a clutch core.

Stoll on Sutter:

@JasonGregor: "We watched his game 5 post game presser. It was one of the better ones. He protects us very well. He's actually quite funny."

@JasonGregor: "We play a lot of pranks on him. We put crazy glue on his whistle. One guy sewed his track pants pockets closed." Stoll on Sutter.

@JasonGregor: "In any series I think game 5 is the biggest game. That game was huge for us..."
