It depends on what you consider the core of the team. If anyone wants to move Doughty, Kopitar, Quick or Carter which I consider the core of the team, I would agree with you, they would be making a huge mistake. If you consider Brown, Richards and Voynov to be members of the Kings core then I disagree with you, I think based on this season and their contract situations DL has to strongly consider moving/buying out atleast one of them.

I think we're likely to see if they work out of it. VV only in his second actual season and Brown may have had the worst year of his career but he's going to get the time, on the third line, to work his way back.

Richards is a bit of a problem. Long contract, declining numbers, and honestly I don't think he knows how to play a less physical skilled based game. I think that's his problem he can't be the wild hitter type physically. He's too damaged. Needs to change his game and its been a process.... He's a problem but even so in the modern nhl 5 million for a third line center with 45 pts is going to still be a decent deal.

Richards isn't with carter now I don't think. He's back to the fourth line with Clifford.

VV with the goal! Kings seems to be playing hard.
