Well, what do you expect will happen when you constantly give out numbered attacks and breakaways to one of the most skilled teams in the league...

It's only game one people. Relax. They just need to put the hurt on the sharks the rest of the game, and win game 2.

With that said, they need to change the lines. Richards back to the 4th, get Pearson on the second line with carter and toffoli. It was ****ing stupid of Sutter to mess with this line, it created so much balance but instead its a one line show.
 
Sutter is a complete idiot for ****ing putting Richard's back on the second line. Things were going great with him on the forth line. And wtf does TT get punished for all the time?? He needs to be on the second pp unit. Pull your head out of your ass dimwit Darryl.
 
this team has needed a wake up call ever since they clinched. they have been in cruise control for weeks knowing they were going to make the playoffs and knowing they would be the #3 seed. starting the PO's like this should't be a surprise based on the past few weeks honestly. these guys always need something to whip their ass into shape

Having Nolan in over Pearson is also stupid, the 4th line can't do anything right but hit it seems.

I totally don't blame quick on any of those. Sadly, though, Sutter probably can't send a bigger "wake up" than to pull the guy who just led us to our first Jennings.

Personally I'd also beach regehr for the rest of the game. -3 and I'd put at least two almost 100% on him skating the wrong way in coverage.
 
I'm also in the camp of thought that is annoyed with the line changes. Richards was playing very solid hockey on the fourth line. I don't get it.
 
One period of one game. Plenty of time to wake the **** up. Sharks have hurt pride from last year so we are just getting exactly what I expected minus the sloppy turnovers and d on our part.

The war isn't over in the first 20 min.
 
The positives I can dig out of that are that whether or not those goals were Quick's fault, he will blame himself, and we should see a classic Quick bounce back game on Sunday, after a break to get over this mess.

I think it showed a lack of confidence to get dirty with that run on Quick 5 minutes in. That shows that at that point we had them concerned. We need to do something this game to create that panic in them again.

We likely won't win the game, but we could come back from this and make a statement.

I'll be hoping for that. Not beating them up yet. Just one period in.

I swear the Clifford-Lewis-Nolan line was out there for the majority of the first period. Almost positive they clocked the most even strength time, if not very close to it. Stellar coaching.
 
I hope they see this as an opportunity to put the hert'n on! But really, kings should just come out with the rough stuff. There is nothing to lose and at least it might rattle them a bit. I would just like to see some passion and energy... Kinda like San Jose has had so far.
 
Robyn Regehr is getting eaten alive out there. He and Voynov are getting caught on the wrong side of the puck an awful lot.

Yup. Slow on defense and one scoring line is the problem with this team.

You see guys like Regehr and Mitchell exposed against teams like SJ and Chicago. We were fortunate in our cup run to not have to really face a highly skilled and fast team, that has not been the case the last two years.

I don't mind King as a bottom six lw, actually like him a lot, but the Kings need to upgrade the 2nd line lw and center (if they want Carter at RW) because one line teams don't win championships.
