I guess I can understand. We do own the all time series lead by 2 games as of now. We are 1-1 against you in recent playoff series. Are about to meet you again in a playoffs which if is anything like last seasons playoffs, will be one of, if not the best series of the playoffs.
But yeah... Not a rival.
Sorry if it hurts your feelings bud. But we, for the most part, just don't consider you a rival.
If you want to go ahead and consider us a rival, that's a start. Maybe you will get our attention during this year's series, but I sincerely doubt it.
Now, as someone mentioned above, Vancouver and St. Louis are our rivals. Vancouver fans come into Staples and arrogantly think they own the place. Well, we won't be seeing them in this seasons' playoffs. St. Louis? Well, the Kings and the Blues have had two very interesting playoff series in the past two seasons: a rivalry has certainly developed, with Stewart (who is not on the team anymore) stupidly trying to shush the Staples crowd when his team was down 3-0 in games and ended up losing that 4th game as well. Those kinds of things develop rivalries. However, the way the Blues are stumbling into the postseason, we won't see them either.
I would also throw Phoenix in there for obvious reasons. The two teams hate each other. But we won't be seeing them either this playoff year.
The Sharks? Not even close. Neither team hates each other. No players hate each other. The L.A. fans laugh at the Sharks' fans chanting "Beat L.A." Hell, even the fans of both teams get along at Staples Center.
It's the same old story. NoCal fans hate SoCal fans because they have an inferiority complex. SoCal fans shrug at NoCal fans in dismissal. That's it. It is what it is, Sharks fan. Deal with it.
