None of the Centers played well in Game one, they simply just got by for 60 minutes.

The effort has to be a whole lot better in game two.

Another thing is since Jamie Kompon has left, our forwards have looked less and less prepared.

I want Davis Payne fired.

I don't blame Payne for the PP, the Kings are just bad, Gabo is the only guy that can make those (in tight plays).

I do blame Payne for how unprepared the Kings forwards are for breakouts ETC.

The reason I want Richards on the fourth line is because I know he'll be successful against San Jose's fourth line. Playing against Thornton is a deathwish.

According to practice today, Same lines as game one.

On Kings insider, Jon Rosen said Sutter is not going to play two rookies with Carter when he doesn't have last change.

We could see Pearson/Carter/Toffoli when the Kings come home to Staples.

I just hope it's 1-1 and not 2-0. The Sharks aren't the Blues. That's for damn sure.

Lines I am not concerned with, the effort level and lack of being ready is.

Quick also was not good.

It will be 4-0 if the Kings intensity remains like in game one. It won't matter what the lines are.

The hunger has been hit or miss ALL season, I think this (Some)core players might be ok with just one cup.

I knew Sutter wouldn't put two rookies in the top six without last change, that's why I suggested:

Gaborik-Kopi-Toffoli
Pearson-Carter-Williams
King-Stoll-Brown
Clifford-Richards-Lewis

Nothing wrong with that, that at least protects both rookies with Two savy Vets.

I still wouldn't have Richards at Center, I would deny the Sharks ANY chance to have Richards at Center ice.

Richards D game has vanished, let him play wing and just Create.

Richards/Lewis/Vey fourth line. That is a fourth line that can actually score.

Lewis is capable of handling all Defensive duties on that line.

Clifford/Nolan have both done poor jobs this season. Nolan started out great then tapered off quick.

Let's see what Sutter does, if the kings lose both games in SJ with Pearson a HS, and we win both games in LA with Pearson-Carter-Toffoli line reunited, and Richards centering the 4th line.

We'll more likely lose if no one shows up for the first 40 minutes.

Well it's also no coincidence that the Kings started scoring after the lines were broken up.

Sutter is trying to force something that doesn't work if he really does go the same lines.

This. Expecting the kings to lose again if the lines are intact from last game period.

I don't think the lines had anything to do with game one.

Kings didn't show up for 40 minutes, and the Sharks stopped playing in the third with a Five goal lead.

That is most likely why the lines are the same.

It doesn't matter what the lines are, if the Kings intensity level is going to be flat.

Also if Quick plays like that again....The Kings are in real trouble.

Just take a look at the Hawks, you could argue Crawford has already lost the Hawks two games(with multi soft goals allowed).

Whether the kings only showed up for last period, or maybe that the sharx played it safe in the 3rd, is irrelevant. Bottom line is, we didn't look good with the lineup we had in game 1. We are a 4 line deep team with Richards as our 4C and Pearson in the lineup.

I don't think Richards should play Center period. I would deny the Sharks that advantage at all cost.

Stoll got owned most of game one as well by Shepp.

Kopitar was the only Center that held his own.

Doesn't matter where you put Richards, if you have him at Center, SJ is going too exploit it.

Even if he only plays 12 minutes. SJ has last change and Home ice.

I wouldn't come back with the same Lineup, force SJ to change something.

It's easy to see why Sutter is though. Game one was a lack of being ready and investing in the game at all.

(hope the guy is ok)

Over here in Shark land we have been discussing playing Pavs as 3C when we head to LA. How do you think you'll match-up against these lines?

hertl-thornton-burns
marleau-couture-nieto
torres-pavelski-wingels
sheppard-desjardins-brown/havlat

I like our depth and think Sutter will have his hands full even with last change..
Is Sunday here yet??

despite his bad season mike richards is on the kings 4th. mike richards. both teams have sick depth. sharks come out flying game 1, theres pretty much 0% chance the whole series is that easy.

It wasn't a lack of effort from the players. Sutter's slow ass break out pass to the forward on the half wall in the defensive zone got figured out. Sharks are all like if we pressure that point and take away the pass to the other defender that just leaves sending pucks up the middle all night or forcing turnovers.

Don't worry Sutter's sticking to his guns running out King/Richards/Carter (hasn't worked all season) and Brown/Stoll/Toffoli (or is it Toffoli/Stoll/Brown) A line that might could work, but was only tried a few times during the season and didn't look that great when it did.

Richards not being played at C? OK.... So other then Kopitar who does that leave you with. Carter, not significantly better defensively. Stoll? Wasn't Stoll getting worked by the 3C? Lets give him the toughest match up... That leaves Lewis/Fraser/Vey at center. Richards is the best option at this point. Not too happy a thought.

Don't worry. I'm sure Sutter's brain trust is working on a way to come back and keep the Sharks from countering his beer league breakout. Last time this happened Muzzin spent the whole next game launching stretch passes all over the ice.
