The secret weapon, lol

At least we have something to laugh about, eh KingKopitar?

I know we are laughing about Fraser, but just like Penner, this dude has two rings from two different teams. Go figure!

Someone on Twitter yesterday said something to the effect of "for those of you who weren't Kings fans until 2012, this is like all the years before summed up in two games"

I agree, I think some of it is leadership, some of it is having two (publicly, at least) too even-keeled, stoic coaches. At some point someone has to lose their mind.

Isn't that all of us? :naughty:

And I've been thinking about this. This is how it would go -

Players say little - they obviously don't care.
Players say they need to improve - they always say that.
Players lose their **** - DS has lost the locker room. Total anarchy. Dogs and cats living together.

Raffi Torres is going to check tears of blood out of him.

Hey, if Fraser can get Torres fights him and get him off the ice for 5 minutes, he is doing a great service to the Kings. Now if he can drives Torres crazy and get him for an additional 10 minutes...then he really earned his pay check and the spot here for the rest of the Kings playoff season. lol!

I have more of a problem with their lack of response on the ice. Don't care what they say after or before a game. Prove it on the ice. I have yet to see anything from the team captain who is about to get paid close to $6M per year to play like a fourth line scrub. If his name was Matt Frattin and he was paid less he'd be sitting in the press box.

I''m sure someone has,we just haven't about it. In the age of instant Mayor quotes, some things can still stay in the room without him or any other blogger reporting it.

Oh for sure. I didn't really mean they should air out their dirty laundry; I guess I meant I'd like to see it more in their actions on the ice.

Reminds me of Ivanans. We kept hearing of this legendary freaking insane streak he had in the minors, then he was like a deweaponized battleship cruising around up here. The only time I even saw him sort of unhinged was once going after Staubitz when he boarded Drewiske. That angry face was amazing.

The Kings are that metaphorical deweaponized battleship right now. This myth of the 'big bad Kings' is what drives me bonkers.

I find it hilarious that the year all the "experts" pick us to advance and give us respect, we diarrhea all over ourselves so badly that it trickles down our leg and into our socks. It couldn't be more embarrassing.

Yep. The Kings are the junkyard dog that is now neutered and just sleeps under an 84 Nova.

The Kings haven't had a mean streak since we had Sean Avery, Scott Thornton, Tom Kostopolous and Raitis Ivanans. That was 2006.

For the next 3 years after that it was Raitis Ivanans and John Zeiler. Denis Gauthier added a bit of nastiness.

In 2009-2010, the Kings had Simmonds, Ivanans and Clune. That was a solid team. One power forward, one enforcer, and one agitator. Plus, Sean O'Donnell back on D.

For the past few years it's been Clifford and Nolan. Westgarth was here before Nolan, but he barely played. Clifford is gunshy, Nolan doesn't have Sutter's confidence anymore. Kings are missing that "edge."

The entire league is going away from guys like that who's only job it is to fight.

Which pretty much got dead last in the standings...

One major issue is that the entire top line has been neutralized in two games. I can't think of a decent shot by Williams,Gaborik or Kopitar that was remotely dangerous in any of the games. That has to change or we're done.

I think Sutter nailed it on the head. The 3rd and 4th lines are getting exploited and aren't matching up as well as he wants them to.

Will be interesting to see what happens with that.

He also mentioned that "defensemen have to check too" which was an interesting comment about the defense.

And he said Quick's told him he still isn't where he wants to be and is working at it.

So...sounds like a team problem overall and they're all aware of it.

I think to blame the 3rd and 4th lines is a cop out. Sj's bottom 6 is dominating our lines 1-4.

I'm not feeling very optimistic either but repeatedly posting about how the Kings have no chance accomplishes what exactly?

I'm back *****es!

Nothing, and you're right. I have little hope for the series at this point, but at least go down fighting. I think this team has at least earned that expectation from their fans.

Exactly. How about calling out the top six and lighting a fire under a few of them. Trevor F-ing Lewis is our leading goal scorer at the moment, think about that.
