This team better pray that they really do have some magical switch, because they pissed away their division title, and they've been playing lazy, ******** hockey for weeks now.

Anything short of a Cup should warrant major changes. You can't have a 12 point divisional lead in January and end up second. That's simply unacceptable. To just up and quit playing after clinching a playoff spot is poor professionalism, poor leadership, and some of it is on the coaching staff, too.

So you better prove me wrong with a deep ****ing run, otherwise this season was another embarrassment in my books.

I fully expect there to be some major changes if they lose in the first round starting with the trade of Brown.

LOL.....some of you are hilarious. How about having some appreciation for a season where the Kings never once had to dig themselves out of a deep hole? They have been the most consistent team in the pacific, earning at least 25 points every 20 games. Everyone had the Ducks finishing 1st this season....and despite the horrid start, you're gonna fault the Kings for not going 40-0 in the last half like the Ducks? Tell me what other team in the league kept up with that pace. Hell, the Kings could barely beat the Ducks all season, so maybe we're exactly where we should be.

Don't forget, less than a month ago, the Kings were the best team in the league. Take a deep breath.

Friendly sharks fan here (in New Zealand)

This is probably Thornton's/Marleau's last chance for anything, so I am pulling for them, but it should be a good, intense series. Lets hope for no injuries.

Milan Lucic is tough as woodpeckers lips, as they say down here.

Why the Kings win: 1) Jones has barely any playoff experience and can crumble under pressure, 2) if the Kings strike first they will really put fear of past playoffs failure back in the Sharks, 3) Sutter will play DD, Muzzin, Martinez heavy minutes on defense and the others will cover low minutes fine, 4) we have the deepest and most talented forward group than 2012 or 2014 (Vinny better than Richards and with Steeg, AA, Clifford we have better 4th), and 5) best season we have played ever.

I am not worried about post_clinch play. Kings can flip the switch as we saw in Ducks game. Kings in 6.

Luke Schenn, Brayden McNabb, Rob Scuderi, Jamie McBain pretty much sums up our series. Yes it will be a miracle.

I just want people to understand that I'm actually praising the Sharks and not bashing the Kings when I say the Sharks are the favorite. Everyone else was busy drooling all over the Ducks' run at the end but the Sharks were just behind them, they've really put it all together as their depth has found their roles and guys like Braun, Donskoi are bigtime players beyond what most people think. I think we stand a chance but I honestly think that on paper the Sharks are the favorite. I'm just worried Luke Schenn will lose us the series because Sutter will choose the experienced option over the good option, things like that. They don't have a lot of exposable slugs, maybe Polak.

This isn't me putting stock into records over the last 20 games as much as it is me feeling like I have a good grasp on the Sharks players and their roles vs. our players and their roles. Can anyone say with certainty what our lines and d-pairings will be? Because I could guess with 90% accuracy what the Sharks lines will be and each one of them has been damn effective at what they do. I respect our line blender and everyone's ability to play with everyone else but I guess I'm saying the Sharks are going in with certainties and confidence and we're going in with question marks and questions even ASIDE from the sloppy/lackadaisical play.

Anything can happen and yeah 2012 and 2014 illustrate that the team we see down the stretch isn't necessarily the same one that shows up for the playoffs, but I think it's reasonable to have apprehensions even if this team put down their best regular season in years.

Does anyone have a link to the old nbc kings playoffs into from 2011 that shows greens face bleeding. I have been trying to find on YouTube for a while. Anyone remember that?

I do like our offensive depth especially if Gaborik comes back (unlikely) but it's going to take a Drew Doughty/Jonathan Quick tag team miracle to drag this one out.

The way Gaborik was not really walking during the jersey giveaway leads me to believe he won't even be ready for the 1st round.
