We're ****ed with no Martinez. Now we won't even have a reliable #3 guy, let alone a reliable #4. Gravel should have played way more games during the regular season, but of course Sutter would rather play the **** show that is Scuderi-Schenn (those 2 should never be paired with one another again, one of the worst pairings in the league). Not even the system can save this D core.

I agree that I wish Gravel was given more games in the regular season, however if he was up more games he likely would have been the 6th d-man playing not a lot of minutes. People would have been pissed that he was not in the AHL playing more minutes and developing...so no real winning situation

I think he would have done fine up here, even as a #6 man. I think he could've been good enough to move into a #5 spot. But knowing the way Sutter is, he would have probably sat out a lot of those games. I'm glad they're considering him for the next game, because Scuderi/Schenn are a debacle.

It all comes down to Pavelski. He's the only guy that's really been noticeable on both teams. Basically every success the Sharks have had is because of him and the only guy who all those fluffy words like "intangibles" really matters. The rest aren't impressive.

Burns and Pavelski are beasts for the Sharks. Kings top guys wish they could play as well they're playing in this series, namely Doughty and Kopitar.

I trust Sutter to make adjustments but our big players still need to show up regardless.

No way we just coast through the neutral zone with no puck support like the first two games of the series. We also aren't being sharp enough which is a problem, and credit the sharks a bit for that, but there are some VERY clear things the Sharks are doing that we aren't countering both on their breakout and forecheck, just like the beginning of 2014.

Seems like no notes from practice today?

Gann pointed out they were at least late to take the ice (no sign of them at icetime, so maybe a long video/office session) and no sign of Martinez, but I can't find anything other than that...

The last 5 min after we scored, 1 credited shot on goal and it was Muzzin with 30 seconds left. [Pearson had one too but it went high and wide over the net] That was it. At no point did we ever establish a forecheck or sustained pressure in the offensive zone. even with the goalie pulled. It actually looked worse when Quick came out. Every player seemed to try and do things on his own, never using his players around him. Then there's Kopitar...:shakehead

Aside from Muzzin's goal, Kopitar has been completely ineffective. It seems he can no longer take over a game any more.

the whole team has been bad the last two games. from the most elementary things like stringing together passes and finishing checks to burying scoring opportunities, its just not getting done. it certainly would help if our big players showed up! heck, even Quick has seemed a little off

Hope the guys are taking notes and watching Nashville tonight. That is how you dismantle an opponent in the post season, get under their skin and take runs. Throw the Sharks off of their game by any means necessary.
