Seriously... Get Greene on the bottom pair, bump Schenn up to the second pair. This is going to be great!!!

It comes down to trust. Does the coaching staff trust a rusty Matt Greene over Scuderi, Schenn or McNabb the way they're playing now?

You could put Muzzin in that group the way he's played the last few games. Also Martinez has been out a week? Just got to roll the dice. :naughty:

What's the worse that could happen?

I think it's a big risk putting Greene in after missing more than half the season, but I hope Sutter makes the right decisions.

If Greene is paired with a good puck moving defenseman, e.g., Martinez or Muzzin, I have no problem with putting him in the lineup. He will be fresh and ready to go after having the season off.

Greene might be rusty, but he'll be extremely well rested. I imagine he's chomping at the bit to play a game. Its too bad he didn't play a few regular season games to ease him back in, starting in the playoffs isn't an ideal situation. We have a lot of "shut down" guys on the back end going in, I hope that doesn't hurt the puck moving ability going up ice. As long as those shut down guys are paired with a mover it should be fine (unless its a PK scenario).

and be glad there's no shootout in the playoffs.

the discussion here is 99% focused on defense and how it sucks. schenn sucks. scuderi sucks. mcnabb sucks.

damn, lak should also score some goals if they want to win some games. who will do it? who will score, which line? it wasn't discussed here at all.

Mcnabb/Scuderi-Doughty
Muzzin-Schenn
Martinez-Greene

I like it much better now I don't know why . Have a feeling the 2nd pairing will screw us a bit because Muzzin has a tendency to make some boneheaded decisions as well.

Kopitar's line or Carter's line.

One of the two needs to be hot or we don't win series.

Everything else is fluff, although AA has looked nice on the 4th line lately.

Sharks are giving out playoff shirts to fans who go to game 3.
You know what is better than a playoff tee? A stanley cup champs one:naughty:

I actually think the Kopitar line is going to have their hands full with Thornton-Pavelski-Hertl. Like the Hawks series when Hossa-Toews blackholed Kopitar and vice versa. If the Sharks want to score, they'll get those guys out vs. other lines; if they want to stop us from scoring, they'll put Thornton vs. Kopi. That line has been the best in the league since the Sharks started getting hot.

I mean, it makes sense, Pavelski is basically the heart Thornton is missing...:sarcasm:

The Carter line needs to run amok on Couture and our depth needs to outplay theirs to have a good shot.

i strongly considered buying some of that Western Conference Champion gear in '14, solely to piss off my then-roommate, and the rest of Chicago

One thing I can't wait for--Lucic to ramp up the hitting intensity. If there's one thing we have on the Sharks in general, it's size.

i do too, which is why Carter's line needs to be opportunistic as **** and take full advantage of the matchups they get
