Tlusty I have liked even if he isn't scoring. He is good defensively and pushes the play forward quite well. The moves Chevy made were brilliant.

Yes they were.

Not only are we in a playoff position , but poised to make make it as well , and the players realize that would not be if Chevy had not done what he did . Plain and simple.

That goes a long way to the trust players have for an organization , now we just need to lock up a couple pending UFA's .

Wouldn't it be great to have one announcement in the next week or so ? :)

I agree with this. Tlusty is smart and effective with the puck. Playing with Slater is bound to drag you down a bit.

As an aside, I thought Ladd was again fairly ineffective. He seems injured - just not himself.

When everyone is healthy, I'd like to see this;

Stafford-Scheifele-Wheeler
Ladd-Little-Perreault
Frolik-Lowry-Tlusty
Halischuk-Slater-Stempniak
Thorburn

Enstrom-Myers
Chiarot-Byfuglien
Stuart-Trouba

Pavelec

I'm sorry, but if Pavelec keeps playing like he has, this team can do some serious damage and push any team in a 7 game series.

With the way they are playing, I don't see any way you can break up the SSW line.

19 does nothing to bring out the offence for Tlusty or anyone else for that matter. Especially when Tlusty is the type of player that elevates that aspect when he is matched with better skill.

Personally I know who I would like to see replace Slater ;) anytime would work for me.

Stempniak for Odell?

He is taking a lot of maintenance days, so something is up. It is something he is able to play through though.

Central division is at +134 Goal Differential. Jets have climbed to +12, so they're actually contributing to that garish total now.

What a game! I can say I saw both of Pav's shutouts this year - the one tonight and the one at MSG.

Shutouts are so damn satisfying to see live. There were so many putrid Caps fans investing the arena. It was so great for them to have nothing to cheer for all game.

And Ovi was terrible tonight. Complete non-factor on offence and lousy defensively too.

Just a perfect game. :)

Why do the Jets shake hands after and when did that start?

Heard Pavs mention they do it in soccer , so maybe stems from there . It's a meaningful all in , together act imo. Business like too.

That is a nice looking line up. Stempniak is definitely growing on me. Having him and Tlusty on that third line is really a huge addition. Even if they aren't putting up points they are reliable veteran players who cycle the puck well.

I also hope we keep Halischuk around. He may have stone hands at times but I think he is a very effective 4th liner. Have to admit that Thorburn has been a pleasant surprise - I am a big Peluso fan but Thorbs deserves he place on the team by the way he has been playing.

I watched the first 35 minutes of play, was pleased with the 2-0 lead, but was terrified we'd stop playing so well while I was at work. Just got to check the score, and I'm so thrilled to have been worried for nothing!
