Kane is becoming a team guy right in front of our eyes. Does he still want out of Winnipeg? ;)

Noel still keeps saying "Pavelec is our starting goalie" and "He's not sure who is going to start the next game" :shakehead

Christ...You'd think Noel would have been more prepared to dance around the starting goalie questions then that came across.

He can't start Pavelec. No matter how brittle he may think Pavelec's confidence is, his job is on the line. Starting Pavelec would be way too risky at this point.

Atleast the media is grilling Noel on the goaltending situation. One person asking how many games like this it would take for Montoya to take over the #1 job. Noel obviously beats around the bush

Not worried how he responds to this verbally.

He should be cautious , no need to create waves , what he says to the goalies and team in private is more important.

Roll with it

I understand what Noel is saying. He can't throw Pavelec under the bus. He's giving him some cover.

I played goal when I played competitive hockey and this just feels like a coach who is unsure how to deal with goaltenders. It's fascinating how little the position is understood. Which makes it really strange when HC's don't just look at save percentage when deciding who's good or not.

Monty is going to lose 1 then we will see pavs for 10 straight and he will go 3-7

Pretty much... that's what I'm afraid of. Noel will put Pavs in the net for an extended stretch as soon as he gets an excuse. Monty has to be pretty much perfect to continue getting starts.

I dunno, I think the fanbase hears what he says and shake their head collectively. They will be calling for his head over the handling of this issue.

All he has to say is that we'll play the guy who gives us the best chance to win! He doesn't need to defend Pavelic every minute, let him deal with the adversity. If he can't so be it.

Well that may be but isn't really an issue , especially if we are winning.

This is a nice small sample for Montoya and it MAY be ongoing , we don't know ... no need to feel Tony Esposito got reincarnated.

Fans will be happy if we win , and if Montoya gets the bulk of starts and wins more than not and we just go with that ill or ountil it changes , no need to publicy downgrade Pav. BTW not a Pav apologist either.

I think he regained his form from when he was on the island and was hot for a good period of time before his injury.

Listening to the Peluso interview we get a fuller feeling of how important it is to the team for Kane to do the unselfish play. Great to see and good for him.

On Claude Noel:

Believe it or not, im neither a fan nor detractor, but i really dont understand what it is fans/posters on here want the man to say.

Is it: "Going forward Montoya is our starter"? HOW would this benefit anyone. I question Noels logic at times, and i think that there are more than one glaring examples of him making poor head coaching decisions, but to publicly throw Pavs under the bus would scream amateur, and Claude can do bad all by himself up in the Peg.

Honestly the starting goalie decision is up to MONTY! He is in the drivers seat--that being his level of play, and CONSISTENT play at that. Should he continue to be solid, and pitch shutouts, of course he will get more starts.

The Vancouver goalie controversy ended incredibly poorly, and was an embarrassment to that organization. To quote Eakins "We don't want that here". Lets talk about about the controversy amongst ourselves, and leave it to Lawless to create a mockery of it which he most certainly will.

Also,

Listening to the Peluso interview, and i really like him.

Very solid game by the Jets. Yes, I realize it was the Sabres, but there was so much that I liked about the defensive approach this game. The tracking through the neutral zone was something else, very little was given to Buffalo in the way of passing lanes. They forced the Sabres to work in order to gain zone entry, and kept them confined to the perimeter when they did.

Great game from Enstrom! Covered up for a few Trouba mistakes, really heads up game from him.

Thorburn, buddy. Thank your lucky stars that replay was inconclusive. Total failure on his part to get the puck out when it was right on the freaking blueline. If that's not enough to get him off the 3rd line, I don't know what is.
