Bergeron for Hart
Shame on the rest of the roster if they can't dispose of the strip mall strays in honor of this legend.
Montgomery on Bergeron playing in Montreal: no reservations with what we did. Called it "a well-thought-out plan."
"Life happens. Tweaked something in that last game," and even with hindsight, they'd go the same route again.
Haha.Take off the 37 jerseys. Take off the Bruins pajamas. Players the caliber of Bergeron just don’t miss playoff games. Larry Bird, Tom Brady, David Ortiz don’t miss big games because of injury. This is going to have a negative effect on Bergerons legacy. No hall of fame and no 37 in the rafters.
Why did he play the game before Montreal, though? Because he needed to "ramp up?"
That's....clearly bullshit! They wanted to ensure they got the points record, but they obviously can't say that.
I’m sure he’ll lose sleep over thatI’m gonna lose a lot of respect for Bergeron if he doesn’t come back soon. Completely foolish to play that game in Montreal.

He also played the game before that, I don't know where the rested for five games comes from.Since my best posts couldn't survive in this thread, I just want to highlight what OBVIOUS bullshit this is. It makes no sense if you think about it for even one second.
They let a stupid regular season record get in the way of doing the right thing.
Wasnt said by any credible source, except the HF-MediaI love this team, but these empty suits that make these comments are just insulting everyone's intelligence.
to say if you knew this would happen and would still do it is laughable.
Also what happened to doing it for his father?
Cool so Montgomery is flat out lying. You can understand the father thing, but the ramp up thing is ludicrous and makes them all look like idiots.Wasnt said by any credible source, except the HF-Media
Tells alot on what you respect or not.I’m gonna lose a lot of respect for Bergeron if he doesn’t come back soon. Completely foolish to play that game in Montreal.
In fact, Ty Anderson deleted a response about it.Wasnt said by any credible source, except the HF-Media
It's amazing to me that every single **** up any of these guys do is always covered with a "behind the scenes nobody knows" angle to try to make them not look bad. From trades, to firings, to drafts, to signings to things like this. It's amazing this group has never made a mistake. In fact, Ty Anderson deleted a response about it.
The way they are handling his absence is only making it worse. FFS just be honest
It's the secrecy that makes everything about the playoffs just awful. It's amazing to me that every single **** up any of these guys do is always covered with a "behind the scenes nobody knows" angle to try to make them not look bad. then to give a "**** you" we would have done it anyways line is rich.
Spot onEverybody needs to step back. All the Dr. Recchi's in here should realize they aren't in the room, and they are dealing with a league which allowed the Red Wings to report Steve Yzerman's broken leg as an "upper body injury". None of us knows when he was injured. None of us knows how he was injured. None of us knows what the injury actually is. The speculation in here is just below the Laffs fans crying about the refs and a court case over 15 years ago, and it is quite frankly, pitiful.
Now I know why I don't come near this place after a 1st round game that ends in a loss. Buncha f***ing drama queens.
What they’re saying is about the nature of the decision (not able to predict injury) - and the reason they’re saying that is because despite the bad luck it was the right decisionIt's amazing to me that every single **** up any of these guys do is always covered with a "behind the scenes nobody knows" angle to try to make them not look bad. Human beings matter more than games
That’s not what they are saying about why he played.“Ayyyyy thanks again for taking league minimum so we can do what we’ve done. Super selfless of you. Oh you wanna play in front of your dying dad in your home province potentially one last time? Go shit in your hat you selfish prick.”
The everloving f*** is wrong with some of you
I tend to agree with Monty, or find the explanation reasonable and likely. He’d sat out a bunch of games and wanted to play a few before the playoffs to tune up. He got injured. So be it.Full quote:
"We wanted -- I wanted and Bergy wanted -- the last two games to ramp up to get in a rhythm for the playoffs," Montgomery said. "Life happens, you know? Unfortunately tweaked something in that last game. Even with the hindsight we would still do it exactly the same way.
"That's how it's easy to move forward when you have no regret with what you did because it was a well-thought-out plan."
