I can't remember the last shift Laff had where I went, "wow." At least you see flashes with Kakko and Chytil. It doesn't matter what line he's on, he needs to figure it out soon.

This dunderhead is basically saying he can't coach. Unfortunately there are no obvious alternatives, Trotz is no doubt a better system's coach but that's not the only issue.

Actually I think he is defending the kids to some point. Watching last night, Chytil put in a pretty good effort but the line was pinned in their own end way too much. I suspect we will see them broken up again soon.

Unreal. He looks like a completely different player in that clip, the one the Rangers drafted. WTF
Don’t get too excited. It was his first goal of the season.

Define full season Lafreniere hasnt even played 2 full seasons yet. 56, 79, 18 games. Add in 10 months of not playing in the pandemic at the most critical point in his career. He's gonna take time, its gonna be alright.
This would be all well and good if others in his draft class weren't already surpassing him.

I’ve been saying this since day one with him. I am totally on board with the patience thing, but it is much, much easier to be patient when the player at least teases you with something that is indicative of his draft position.

There was a time on this board where everyone bent themselves into knots to say “wow” after Laf made a hard, tape to tape pass through some defenders. It was a nice pass, but nothing wow about it. I’m sure some people here remember the pass I’m talking about.

We’re three years in now and I can think of maybe a handful of “wow” moments that he’s produced. The between the legs goal against Detroit. The long distance snipe against NJD. The “shift” in last year’s playoffs, although that was not an individual thing.

It might be impatient or too much to expect a young kid to come in and dominate right away, but it’s certainly not so to expect a 1OA to produce more than a few “wow” moments over the course of several seasons.

Change the way he holds his stick.
Double down on the royal road revolution.
Get ciiiiised.

May I play Devils advocate here. So let's say all the fans get what they want and all the kids progress like crazy this year. THEN WHAT ? 7 of them are RFA's NEXT YEAR. Let's say just Laffy , Chytil , and Miller make a big jump. We'd have a ton of work to do to keep one of them.
Most important "bright side" of the suckage point you made.

The one good thing about our horrible top ten draft choices is that we won't have to pay them much to retain them .

He looks like the same player if you watch them play. He will be a good player, always maintained that but he wasnt jumping ahead of Schneider, Fox and Trouba on this team. I think getting a 1st for him was a good deal for both teams

The Rangers youth rebuild has 5 forwards that are first round picks... not producing.
Patience? Of course.. but they're not developing! They're all busts? really? BS!!

This organization, it's staff, the program... it's on them! And they're not getting it done!

They're convinced they're ready to contend? HOw?

Drury needs to right this... and fast! Or some dark days are coming for NYR fans.
