Matthews getting his finishing in in check would be amazing. Easily could’ve had a bat trick or more

Soup might just be the real deal, a late boomer like Tim Thomas.
Willie is on another level right now and really took off since his playoffs.
AM is getting his groove back, to me it is all about his timing.
Kase is the unsung hero, he is all over the ice and if he starts scoring, watch out.

I want to see a full season before I make any claim on Soup

Tim Thomas is far stretched, during his prime he was almost Hasek like

Great game by the boys. Hustled throughout. Why do we make every goalie look like superstars? Rielly has to be reigned in…gambles way too much with no success and allows 2 on 1s.

Rielly has had a ton of success on those gambles, and this was probably the worst game of the year when it comes to getting burned on them.

A lot of bounces went Calgary's way and it made him get caught a bit more than he would have liked.

But the D isn't good though. Campbell has erased a lot of their problems

Every game, opponents constantly getting behind our D

Not at all. You want to see what you want to see. You think perfection means good, the rest is bad.

Tonight especially, the Leafs were very good defensively and have been the last 8 or so games. Since the Penguins and Canes games.

Another win but we are still seeing the bottom 6 needs to be tweaked. We are essentially rolling 2 4th lines as our bottom 6 and I don't think Mikheyev is gonna make much of a difference when he comes back.

What we need is a player capable of pushing Bunting to 3LW to help out that 3rd linr

Bunting - Spezza - Kase
Ritchie - Kampf - Simmonds

I know we hoped Kampf would create a shut down line but having his as 3rd centre is killing our offensive depth

Thought Liljegren looked a little shaky tonight. Looked like a rookie. Guessing he'll come out for Dermott. Not that he really should.

Completely disagree. Sandin-Liljegren have been our best pair the last week. They're very rarely hemmed in our own zone and can actually move the puck. Not to mention, they're the only pair that actually holds the blueline in the offensive zone to continue possession. That's our 3rd pairing for the remainder of the season and I only expect them to get better.

I think moving Kerfoot to the third line will do the trick.

He fell down once. Doesn't that mean he'll be taken out?

I think they should take out at least Simmonds as well. He had a really bad game and it would be a good time to get Joey Anderson a game.

May be an idea to give Spezza a day off too, even though he wasn't that bad. We can afford to sit him on a B2B without consequence right now and Semyonov did well in Philly.

You know who's a superstar tough to play against? Go see MacKinnon, go see McDavid, Crosboy, Malkin, Oveckhin, Kucharov and Drai

Their game doesn't just revolve around a shot. They create havoc on opponents D, they create chances out of nothing, their instill fear in opposition every time they have the puck. That's what I am talking about. They take it to the opponents

You keep focusing on goals. As if Matthews is the only player who scores in this league. Pstarnak scores goals and he's always brings it. Today it was Marian Hossa who used to score goals and he was one of the most toughest to play against

You keep thinking it's all about points. He's not difficult to play against doesn't mean he's not a good player. Matthews is simply not difficult to play against. He gives up on the play easily, he gets knocked off the puck and he gives up

He only scored tonight because it was 3 on 3. He hasn't been difficult to play against.
Micro stats say a different story though.
Last year he was one of the best players in the league when it comes forechecking.( loose puck victories).

I didn’t see that personally. I thought Liljegren and Sandin both played really well again

He did have a few giveaways and got turned around a couple of times landing on his ass but he recovered. I'm just assuming he will come out for tomorrow. I don't think he should though.
