The answer is both Ek and Jones are great, and we should keep this top 4 together for many years, and I believe Zito will. We are almost guaranteed to win another Cup in the next 3-4 years with this top 4 and if Bob holds up .

I think this can be called a ”nightmare” loss

2-0 lead in the 3rd and lose in regular time

This year is an absolute must to avoid Tampa in the 1st round and Toronto is right there to win the division

It’s this or next season that has the best chance

Tampa will be weaker next season, but I highly doubt the Metro will ever be this bad again

But him and Jones, at this point of their careers, Ekblad being a winner and all… I don’t care, there is just no way you pick Ekky before Jones going forward.

Seth is looking like the perfect D to complete our top-3 IMO. BIG, responsible two-way PP-quarterback. What else ?

Personally I think it's too soon to proclaim Jones as the better defenseman unless you've watched him consistently on Chicago. He's looked good but it's only been a few games.


The main reason I'd pick Jones over Ekblad is the ability to stay healthy, which in turn will likely cause him to age better as a player.

But at their best? I don't think there's a huge difference between the two. They've been similar statistically over the past couple of years besides Ekblad's 2023-24 regular season. Ekblad was on the much better team, but that's somewhat offset by Jones playing more minutes throughout their careers, thus, more opportunity to produce.

Defensively looks good but everyone sucked offensively which tracks’ish

Sloppy passing and unable to clear the defensive zone, everyone seemed off in intensity. Still should've been a tied game had the refs not blown that so soon but w/e.

Tampa lost and as long as we win thursday were still in good shape for the division
