They have played nine great games

I didn't watch 80% of tonight, but sounds like a good defensive game went out the window from the forwards.

I think it's clear the team is still fragile and mentally weak.

We are literally a few weeks from McDavid basically in tears over the team's performance this year.

That 8 game stretch doesn't instantly erase some of the fragility that this team has.

When the team gets into a hole... they unfortunately can stay there for a while and negativity breeds more negativity.

Sloppy game and Bob has been really good. Throw away game after they played lights out 9 games in a row, but hurts a bit after just losing a game they should have won 100 times out of 100 with the way they played. Still need a starting goalie.

Team is broken by having no capable goaltender. Must be mentally exhausting to know that you can never make even the smallest of mistakes without it ending up in your net. Meanwhile on the other end, goalies have bailed out opposing teams at least a handful of times this year, if not more.

Yep. Confidence starts from the net out. When you don't have faith in your goalie, you start to second-guess every play you make and that hesitancy is where the mistakes start to compound.

He should've just dropped Brown down and put Gagner on the 2nd line. Not fooking Janmark and Foegele with Drai. That turned out to be a major disaster.

Wouldn't call it a negative spiral yet. They haven't been great tonight and have let some defensive mistakes creep back into their game, but they've still created quite a few grade A chances. Second period was a really good bounce back after a sloppy 1st period, but unfortunately Bob probably prevented this from being a 1 goal game going into the 3rd.
