Carolina is pretty desperate too for average goaltending and they just waived him. Canes fans/media say he has looked off all season (i.e., their version of Campbell)

That being said, perhaps a fresh environment would reboot his game because, as you mentioned, historically he has been a solid goalie.

I'd definitely take a shot at him.

Guy is only 34 which isn't end of the line for goalies.

He is only a $1.5 million cap hit so much easier to bury/dump if needed and he's pending UFA so he walks after this season.

Perfect pick-up imo (unless the Oilers have another better option in the works... but I doubt it).
