Idk why people are going on like Florida is a ‘tough’ team, like somehow Tampa wasn’t.

Tampa had Fat Pat, Bogo, Jeannot (hahahaha!), Perry, stealth dirty Kucherov, Paul and a ton of guys who love chippy after the whistle shit like Colton, Sergachev, Cirelli, Killorn and Hagel. In fact I’d say the only meaningful players with any sportsmanship or integrity they have are Point, Hedman and Vasilevskiy.

Tkachuk isn’t tough - he’s more of a sneaky dirty after the whistle chirper who will drop them - a prime Corey Perry if you will - he will still need to be accounted for but Schenn can easily remove a few of his teeth.

Sasha the friendly ghost is still one of the game’s elite two way centers but whatever happened to him? The numbers are still ‘good’ but wasn’t he in the Matthews-MacKinnon tier a few years ago? Of Tampa’s forwards it was his counterpart Cirelli who was scariest.

Gudas is a pylon with a knack for bad penalties.

Montour-Forsling-Ekblad-Gudas-Staal-Mahura vs Rielly-Brodie-Schenn-McCabe-Liljegren-Giordano. Florida May have a slight edge in the top three (though Mo is the best overall) but that bottom three is hideous, as I said in the start of the season.

Ekblad somehow morphs into a rock in the playoffs but has exactly 1 career postseason goal.

It’s their unsung guys - Verhaeghe, Montour, Luostarinen and Bennett who will need to step up and who could cause problems.

Florida bans sales to Canadian credit cards - because yeah there’s no Canadians with green cards in Florida (I personally know seven) and certainly no unscrupulous Floridians who will be willing to flip a $75 ticket for $200 in this era of record inflation.

I’m still sticking by Leafs in six.

Devils up 3-0 in the 3rd versus the Rangers. If Rangers are out I definitely see a path for the Leafs to the Cup. Outside of the Covid Cup, this is the first time I have felt this way since 2002.

One game at a time, no teams are slouches and it is never easy. Rangers and Vegas worry me the most all things being equal.

The Leafs worst enemy will be themselves. They need to be relentless and sacrifice. If they do, they will win.

Win one for Borje!

Why are so many people so against 11 and 7? Like I got not wanting to do it in the regular season but we have the depth on defense and our 4th line was absolute dog shit against Tampa….why would we not keep doing it?
I think it has its place. Not a fan of the milage it puts on the forwards, but I like it for a game or 2 at a time.

I fully expect the Leafs to roll over this team.

Leafs need to play physical and get under Matthew Ts skin. People talk about what a nuisance he is, which is true of course, but, he has to be careful since Leafs
PP is strong while FLA PK was horrid.

Thus, Leafs should play their game and go at him early and often, bait him into taking penalties. He will have little room for error.

Crowd should get on him like we got on Perry and Maroon then.

You really think Toronto is getting 27 PP's over 7 games like the Bruins did?

They got the most PPs out of any team in the first round.

Things don't work like that for the Leafs. What will happen is coincidental minors and a whole lot of even ups because the refs don't want to "influence" the game.

Florida stayed put at tdl while whole East loaded up. Even their own management didn’t believe they had any chance. Not improving their roster can be costly in round 2. I would suspect that they have quite a few holes on the team we can exploit and would unlikely be able to match our top 3 lines. I’m cool even with our forth line against Barkov line in limited cases.
We need to take the bull by the horns and make quick series as it’s important to prevent fatigue in latter rounds if we get there (historically you must).

Matthew T will leave the refs no choice, he can't help himself. Leafs don't need as many as the Bruins, they just need their fair share.

Nah, don't play into his game. He dragged the entire Bruins roster into it. Best to ignore him and box him out (Schenn) from Sammy. Keep it low event around him.

The rest of the Leafs should match up well against the Panthers.

Think we matchup well with the Panthers. I think Boston was the worse matchup even though they were completely out of sorts in round 1. Don't think it will be an easy series but one that we should win if the big boys (Matthews, Marner, Mo, Tavares, Nylander, Samsonov) play well, Leafs in 6.

I'm not sure if it was just me, but I thought ROR played his worst game as a Leaf in game 6. Anyone know if he's hurt or anything? I haven't seen anything but I hope he goes back to playing like he did games 1-5.
heard someone else mention his poor faceoff performance (2-11). hope he didn't re-aggravate his finger injury
