Callahan is not a Captain. He plays hard every night but seems to be too shy to call out the slackers on the team. Messier yes, Cally no. Replacement? Nobody. That's how sad this team is.

Wonderful. I'm glad that you get some odd enjoyment out of the notion. I can't fault you for feeling down on the team or pessimistic, but to flex this odd triumph over me because I dared to have faith in my team is ridiculous.

It is what it is. The sooner you realize it the better.

And here we go. :shakehead

I'm sorry, but that's a little over the top.

I've seen proposed ideas of Keenan taking over.

Blows my mind. Everyone seems to hate Torts who is basically a decaffeinated version of Iron Mike.

Iron Mike at least didn't care who you were on the team. If you ****ed up, you weren't getting back in the game.

With Torts, if a player plays like **** and he's not a rookie, his remedy is to give that said player more minutes.

I dont care who it is, someone who can the coach the offense. Ever since Jagr, Nylander and Straka left, this offense has been nothing but below average or mediocre.

Not true. Keenan was not a "defense only" coach like this mope. He did however punish players who weren't giving effort. Torts punishes players who aren't perfect away from the puck.

I'm more referencing to the berating that Torts must give them. Many criticize his tactic because it gets old. Keenan was about as far from nice as you can get. Literally the antithesis of Mother Teresa.

watching the road to victory documentary and i'm wondering if Sather's plan ultimately is to hand over the bench to messier and keenan...

maybe with mess as the head coach? IDK... could be a nightmare.

Most likely, Keenan. Just a gut feeling since last year.

Gab scored in the same Tort system in previous years I think it's more Gab is just old. Richards obviously too. Unfortunate timing they both got old not coincidentally with no camp and a lockout. That said Torts system sucks

I don't think Torts is a bad coach and I don't think this is a bad team.

Maybe the two just aren't meant for each other. Torts has his set system but the team had a major overhaul from last season.

Watching the reject Sullivan diagramming and coaching during the time-out made me sick.

This team takes time-outs to rest their scrub D-men after an icing in the first period one game, the next you have Sullivan making some kind of perfect tic-tac-toe plays, when we can't even make 2 successful passes in a row.

Tortorella needs to go, because he fails to adapt. We need a tactician in here, no more motivators.

I think why some people are saying his antics are getting old is because he doesn't hold all players accountable. For some, one mistake and they see limited ice time in the next period. For others, ten mistakes and they're still back on the ice.

Have we seen a game where Richards, Gaborik, and Boyle were sitting together at the end of the bench?

If you're going to be stern and call out players, don't be half-***** about it.

Yup. The problem right now is that everyone just wants anyone other than Torts. Ruff? lol come on. We need to ride this out a little longer and give the players a chance to get some confidence. Torts knows what he has to do, the players just need to execute.

If you're going to be stern and call out players, don't be half-assed about it.

Going to agree with you here. Guys like Richards definitely need to be held more accountable. Boyle has been healthily scratched so I'd say he's gotten his doghouse moments.

Haha i think the same thing every time they show him with the board. Such a waste. Rather have the player huddle together and discuss what they want to do to try to score.
