Panarin is better at every single thing except for the literal act of shooting the puck.

Laine has a really high ceiling though. Im surprised people seem to have given up on that

I can absolutely see him surpassing 50 and maybe even 60 goal a season a few times.

More risk maybe but higher ceiling and younger so you keep him longer

Laine. Can’t justify giving a 2 time 30 goal scorer 11.6 million.
You will when you see the contracts given out year after year as salaries increase. And Panarin is just an all around amazing playmaker, he is responsible for many, many goals he might nor have personally scored.

Laine is already around the age where goal scoring historically peaks.

Laine lacks the natural athletic talent to hit his ceiling this early. You take a one look at him and you can tell he's not close to maturity athletically. A typical big boy development curve is much more likely IMO.

He's a guy who can score 44G from the perimeter: Once he can consistently get to high scoring areas he's gonna flirt with 50 goals each season, maybe put 60G a few times.

There has been 0 indication he can become that kind of player.
