This is the NY Rangers. We have had unprecedented good luck in the last 2 years, winning 2nd overall, then 1st overall. Mika becoming elite, getting Fox on the cheap and Miller thus far looking like a home run draft pick. The hockey gods must balance the scales. The question is, are they now balanced? Is our recent spate of bad luck commensurate with our prior good luck?
I have done some calculations, using a very simple formula:
Good luck <= Bad luck
This is 100% proven science when it comes to the Rangers. The hockey gods will never allow us to have more good luck than bad, as shown by our 4 Stanley Cups in nearly 100 years.
Mika is elite = Mika sucks now
Fox emergence = DeAngelo banishment
Miller emergence = Andersson fiasco
Getting 2nd overall = Panarin being accused of beating up an 18 year old woman
Getting 1st overall = ???
By my calculations, we can expect some other woe to befall our team. It's just a matter of time.
