This is the NY Rangers. We have had unprecedented good luck in the last 2 years, winning 2nd overall, then 1st overall. Mika becoming elite, getting Fox on the cheap and Miller thus far looking like a home run draft pick. The hockey gods must balance the scales. The question is, are they now balanced? Is our recent spate of bad luck commensurate with our prior good luck?

I have done some calculations, using a very simple formula:

Good luck <= Bad luck

This is 100% proven science when it comes to the Rangers. The hockey gods will never allow us to have more good luck than bad, as shown by our 4 Stanley Cups in nearly 100 years.

Mika is elite = Mika sucks now
Fox emergence = DeAngelo banishment
Miller emergence = Andersson fiasco
Getting 2nd overall = Panarin being accused of beating up an 18 year old woman
Getting 1st overall = ???

By my calculations, we can expect some other woe to befall our team. It's just a matter of time.

Obviously no Panarin to play for Olympic Athletes from Russia next year either.
i'm 100% on board Panarin getting an honorary citizenship in the USA. Can join the likes of Winston Churchill and Raoul Wallenberg, and then play for the US in the Olympics , scoring the golden goal against the OAR, stripping Ovechkin in for the breakaway in OT

The only difference is that more people can hear your rumor mongering and narratives now. This used to be constrained to your actual friends, family, neighbors, etc. The fast spread of information and tendency to snap to judgment is certainly a worse situation than it used to be given how quickly these ideas spread now.

I’m more than likely older than you think I am.

Right but your point is exactly why we need to be more careful— not less careful— as is being displayed here and other situations like it. It’s really not totally about age but I will say, I feel incredibly fortunate to have grown up before social media and all these other traps started sucking away people’s time. Being in my late 30’s now I have not forgotten what life used to be like before all this substantial spreading of miss truth used to be.

I feel exactly the same way. I treasure my youth and feel lucky to know what life was like in the before times.

Any truth meaning if he beat up the girl.

Well, again, depends on what that means. Beat her senseless a la Greg Hardy without reason? Probably warrants some sort of banishment.

Slapped her after she went off and drunkenly attacked him in a bar first? Different story. Not acceptable, but not necessarily warranting termination.

This situation is truly wild. The human race needs to break it's addiction to disinformation and paper strongmen.

The first step is probably to break the addiction to "But if it's true, it's the Ranger's job/social media's job/corporation X's job to do something about it."

No, it's really law enforcement's job.

Leave speculation about whether something happened and whether to do anything about it to them.

So it sounds like everyone but Nazarov is denying this. f***, this may be a Nazarov creation because he's butthurt about Panarin's criticism of Putin. Maybe it doesn't even have anything to do with Putin himself.

Personally I don't believe this shit for a second.

The bribe would be bad regardless though and indicate that something really bad did happen.

Again I'm 95% sure it didn't happen at all. But still, anything is possible.

How do we get Art dual citizenship so he's wearing red white and blue at the next Olympics?

If we lose Panarin use his money to get every single Ranger player their own 24/7 personal bodyguard/security.
