Horrible news, I saw the documentary Icarus recently and I hope his family will be ok because Putin is a vengeful man. Here's hoping that his family will be safe first of all and that he gets to clear his name!

We're beyond f*cked now. Here's to Laf and Kak getting those minutes and Chytil coming back hopefully soon and ok.

I hope bread did not do this for real and f*ck Putin either way.

I kind of assumed he didn't have alot of family left in Russia. Wasn't he raised by his grandparents? This is one of the things people take for granted on this country. Think about all the things people say about political figures here. Now imagine if all of the sudden they placed your parents under arrest because of a tweet you sent. We have alot of work to do here but we are farther along than most.

Start of another cold war? Russia asks the US for Artemi and they say no.

Time to fight for the guy. I'm literally from right next door (Poland). Horrible shit has happened to us through the years by the soviets so we no longer believe a word they say.

Here's to hoping this situation ends soon and Artemi is back with us. Cheers.

I've said it before, it was ballsy to say the things he has And still spend time in Russia. Detractors can be disappeared or destroyed.

We lost 2 of our best players to wrong think and one turned into a pumpkin..

What a disaster of a year... Do not let any of the Russians drive, for good measure.

I feel there's more to the story... I don't see how false allegations from a decade ago lead to Panarin taking a leave of absence.. Maybe I'm out of touch

I find it humorous that NYR’s statement says it’s clearly an intimidation tactic, then in the very next sentence they say he’s shaken. That means it clearly worked. The way you stop this from becoming an issue is to not let it grow. I think the LOA only gives credence to the allegations.

I appreciate the fact the team clearly is on Panarin’s side, but I wish they would have attacked the source and given context to the situation, saying it’s due to his political comments about Putin and reference the others who were attacked for their comments.

Lol, they will never say anything about other country's president. Like never, it's not they way big business works.

Back to hockey for a moment....Friedman on 31T today saying that he believes that Treliving has made the decision that its time to shake things up in Calgary.

Apparently there was a meeting after the Tkachuk/Muzzin puck flip game and that it "went sideways", some of the guys are annoyed with how Tkachuk seems to start stuff every game. He says that "that group isn't playing for each other" and that Treliving is taking calls on many other guys other than Bennett, they're looking to break up the core.

@Edge - Not sure if you've heard anything recently.

Not true but my hunch is perhaps you’ve grown up during this time of instant expert status. At one point in human society, actually not that long ago— people used to actually listen to fact. Now that everyone has a keyboard at their disposal and can post whatever they want and mixed with the constant one upping social media promotes we’ve honestly become incapable of allowing a situation to develop without chiming in. Look all’s I’m asking for is for the absurd debating that is going on specifically around if someone who does something when they are 18 is somehow worse than those who do it at 60, rampant speculation, spreading of false and entirely baseless assumptions into the conversation can just stop. The more a rumor is repeated the more it becomes fact.
The only difference is that more people can hear your rumor mongering and narratives now. This used to be constrained to your actual friends, family, neighbors, etc. The fast spread of information and tendency to snap to judgment is certainly a worse situation than it used to be given how quickly these ideas spread now.

I’m more than likely older than you think I am.

Beyond his family there has to be concern for his wife's family/friends by association. Seems like the entire offseason she's posting instagram stories with her family and friends across the country.

Without question, there's more to this story we don't know about. And even the Rangers organization may not know all of the details.

There are so many way this can lead to bad consequences for Panarin. I really feel for him.

Excuse me sir. This is the “Panarin is a freedom fighting rapist” thread. Please take this “hockey” stuff somewhere else.
