come on dude. i know your schtick is to act exasperated and play dumb with comments you don't agree with, but you know exactly what i meant. of our pending UFA's, there were the most valuable.
Lou made Palms shave his beard.
I would say Kulikov is just objectively more valuable because of his salary and lack of an NMC.come on dude. i know your schtick is to act exasperated and play dumb with comments you don't agree with, but you know exactly what i meant. of our pending UFA's, there were the most valuable.
sheesh and I thought seeing greene in an isles sweater was bizarre
I know that. Have fun watching the Islanders.
You can pick up new veteran leadership too. Guys like Boyle or Lovejoy filled that role immediately.they’ve had veteran leadership this whole time, not having these guys for the last month of the season isn’t going to suddenly make the young guys forget how to be pros or somehow make another losing season crush their development.
both guys are ufas and not guaranteed to be back anyway. but as far as their veteran leadership is concerned, it hasn’t really made much of a difference on the ice as far as i can tell. let the young players who are hungry to win and are sick of losing take the reins and see where they lead the team, and bring in a vet or two with the abundant cap space we have to fill that role.
i get being upset about this trade for sentimental reasons but from a team management and business perspective this was absolutely the right move for this franchise right now
I still amuses me that Trotz had to shave for Lou too.Just seeing a clean shaven Palmieri is the most bizarre part for me.

What does that mean though? He wants them to win the Cup?I am actually not a fan of him saying “I hope we get the 32nd pick” either. I thought that part was unnecessary.
I do think it will become joke fodder down the line if the Fitzgerald era is an awry one.
“Remember that time he said that he hoped the Islanders first round pick he got for Zajac and Palmieri was the 32nd overall?”.
This is why we can’t have nice things. I know that every single thing a person says has to be picked apart and judged but this is the weirdest thing for people to be hyper-sensitive about.Fitz probably could have just said "We wish them well" instead of going as far as he did, but it's still much ado about nothing.
Why did he say that? Makes no sense. Not getting his humor...I am actually not a fan of him saying “I hope we get the 32nd pick” either. I thought that part was unnecessary.

after niko and jack??I guess it’s the glass half full side of me but I see this years draft as having the potential to find a top 10 talent in the mid to late 20s of the 1st round more than normal years. Now you could also completely blow the pick but that’s any year. I’ll take the ammo and trust the scouts and them doing their homework.
The "I hope we get the 32nd pick" quote was a bit over the top I thought, laying it on too thick. But it's just meaningless PR, don't care about it.
Count me in as someone who thinks this is a nothing comment by Fitz, but thought the Hall comment was a negative. This is why we can’t have nice things. I know that every single thing a person says has to be picked apart and judged but this is the weirdest thing for people to be hyper-sensitive about.
I can’t wait for the call back to this comment months (or even years) later and have people still whine about it. It’s like Hall saying we lacked talent or some shit, damn, these guys should stop speaking publicly at at all because they might hurt fans feelings forever with one random sentence that came out of their mouth.
What's worse is I think people do get a little outraged by these benign comments. It says a lot when a harmless and cursory attempt at class is met with rage.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that in 2021 people on the internet are looking for irrelevant things to pretend to be outraged out.
