Watch any shift Marchand takes and its all 100%, he never stops or floats. I see a bit of Crosby in his game if he stays out of trouble. They are both hard to knock off the puck. I can say as a fan I can count on my hand the number of times Marchand has been hit hard enough to go down, its rare. Laughable about the diving, unless you dive and do not land. A few yrs ago I would have entertained trading him because he would always do something dumb every few months. Tonight for sure Glen Healy shows a montage of him taking bad penalties, keep up the bias Canadian media. He does it every time (TMZ hockey info).
Last year after missing the outdoor classic he was remorseful and vowed to change his ways. He was ashemed of some of his antics. Mind you being a small player sometimes you have to play on the edge to make it and avoid getting hurt yourself. Since then he went on to be cleaner and a leader, he still chirps. His play at the World Championships showed he wanted to be on Team Canada. It showed them he could be trusted and perform. Getting picked for the World Cup was laughed at by everyone. Then getting on Sids line drove ppl nuts. Give him credit he not only rose up to the challenge but blew open the door.
Some guys take longer to reel it in. Patch had his suspension problems too with late hits, hitting from behind before doing the same. Both players are good and will not be traded, too many ties to their teams for that to ever happen. Patch is the captain and after PK they do not make another move like that. Marchand and Bergy are too good together and his long contract that was fair for both sides.
