Just a couple things about Par Lindholm.

He's not gonna hurt you. Typical Finn in that he has pretty solid fundamentals but he has shown no scoring sense at all.
He's played mostly left wing with the Goat on the 4th line. Has had some reps at C and even a bit of 3LW. He also PK's.
The thing that will stand out for you is how hard he works. So much so that he's a Babs type player and some suspect this deal was to take away one of Bab's toys.

Anyway, enjoy your player. No take backs.

leaf fan here. Lindholm isn't even bad. He does the right things and is perfectly fine on the fourth. He won't wow you, and with him it is kinda like a solid bottom pairing dman. You won't hear his name.

And if petan is just meh as you guys say, this was a bleh deal both ways.

Thanks for the info on Lindholm.

Time will tell with Petan ... his fans around here say he got a raw deal because he wasn't gifted a spot with elite players on the first line. I have no idea whether he will get to play with Matthews or Tavares on the Leafs but if he does, maybe we will finally see if those Petan fans were correct and he actually is a great player so long as he gets to play with elite talent instead of "plugs".

Thanks for the report. I'm not totally sure where he'd slot in with our current lineup, but sounds like a useful player. Also sounds like a "Maurice type player" and possible "toy" for our own coach ... replacement for Lemieux I guess, although more responsible from what you are describing.

Ironic?
Yup - the "who's better and gets to play" posts between Lemmy and Petan are pretty much a non-factor now.
Betha Chevy was lurking and got tired of reading it too :naughty::naughty:

Good luck Mr Petan - one thing about the Leafs squad - they are not hung up on size / grit

let's put it this way, his EA OVR would be like 65-70 but if he had a gud pro rating itd be like 9000

Big reason why I put that in there.

Dave Poulin basically saying the Jets just dumped Petan for nothing, had to take contract back and took pending UFA Lindholm. Is Lindholm waiver-exempt?

Wish we’d recoup some picks.

God what an ignorant post. :help:

He's being referred to as "Draper 2.0" in the Petan appreciation thread, and it's been the constant refrain whenever someone points out his lack of production (108 games, 5 goals, 18 assists) that this is because he never got to play with the top players. Whereas other guys, like Lemieux, playing on the 4th line as Petan has, put up twice as many goals in half as many games. So while I'll admit my post was a bit exaggerated for dramatic effect, I don't think it's so ignorant. It reflects what a lot of the chatter on HFB has been about Petan.

That’s one poster. You’re trying to lump a bunch of people together because of one....

If I had to guess, they needed to dump Petan for someone who is Waiver's exempt, especially since they got Hendricks. Par Lindholm is still waivers exempt, so they can put him down to the Moose whenever they want

Pretty sure Petan will have the same outcome in TO as he had here in Winnipeg...

Let's not forget that he played with Wheeler for a stretch and had time on the first PP unit too...

He was never able to complete even the most routine plays without getting checked into the boards and completely taken out of the play basically every time he had the puck

AHL guy.

Lindholm can skate and can play a role, which suits our needs more.

Petan used to be my favourite prospect, too bad it didn't work out here
Maybe he'll get a better chance in Toronto

It had to be done. We had no apparent use for him and he carried very little value.

Last time I checked Petan was with KO Sports. If Chevy held on to Petan and he never saw the ice for the rest of the season not sure how good that would be for future relations with KO.

Nice to see Nic get a chance. Not sure if Babcock will use him. He doesn’t kill penalties and it held him back here.

I agree. If we don't really want Lindholm though wouldn't a 5-6-7 round pick be better?

Be still my beating heart.

I remember the following scouting report after we drafted "the steal" of Petan's draft year... Nic Petan's upside: The Next Marty St. Louis. Nic Petan's downside: Another Brendan Gallagher.

What a tale of mismanaging a prospect.
And Nathan Beaulieu scouting report comparables were Keith Yandle and Mike Green. What a steal by Chevy. Except a lot happens over the 5-6 from draft day. If every player became the draft day scouting report comparable there would be 31 all star teams in the NHL. Most don't come close.

No, he really didn't.

Unless you count 4th line minutes with a bunch of plugs

He's played over 100 games and didn't produce. Appleton on 4th line and is still putting up points.
