Felt bad for Votary but the Attack are a totally different team with George in net. The Kingston goalie was also very good. i think the Attack will be ok going forward, hopefully Votary finds his game or they find someone else.

Crawford gets the automatic 2 games for the slew foot.

That was a much better effort this afternoon. The offense looked much better and I thought they were able to generate a number of good looks. Really liked the top 3 lines, especially thought the Hookey, Guindon and Petrovsky line was good. The third line of Stewart, Cormier and Waddick chewed up some solid minutes and had a nice game.

Overall, a number of positives to take away and build off of. Hopefully they can carry some momentum into tomorrow and finish the weekend on a good note.

JP will be eligible to return tomorrow in Oshawa.

That will be a big boost on the back end. Really miss him on PP2 right now. Will be interesting to see who comes out, likely will be Smith but I really like what he's shown so far.

Also thought Tersigni looked really good today in his limited minutes which is really nice to see.

I like our top 6 the way they were yesterday. I also like that 3rd line Waddick is fitting in and Cormier is turning in some solid efforts. I have really been impressed with Stewart this season he is effectively using his physical presence without taking any undisciplined penalties that trio is really helping the top 6 by eating up the minutes they are keeping the top 6 fresher. When Nico Addy gets on track and I believe he will we could have 4 solid lines. Hopefully they can carry that effort into tonight.

It's been a slow start for Waddick but the past few games he's shown some positive progress and starting to earn more scoring chances. It feels like he's going to get one and the dam will break for him.

Stewart has been in control this year. He's still playing his brand of pain in the ass hockey but staying disciplined while doing it. He's a regular on the third line for me if he can continue to play that way.

Cormier has been really solid in the D zone so far and really taken to the checking role he's in. I think he's got more to give offensively but I appreciate the attention to detail in the defensive end. I like that he's had opportunities on the PP2 unit as well as it can potentially boost his confidence offensively.

As per Sun Times article, Tealke interview, George to have back to back starts.
I would expect that lines up Votary for either Flint or Sarnia this week. George will get the London game on Saturday I'm sure. Maybe the road game in Sarnia is the one to give Votary to keep George fresh for Saturday's contest?

Addy seems to be the least effective of the rookies so far. Maybe needs more time to find his groove
I'm not going to throw mud at anybody but I thought Nico looked better in Sundays game I've also noticed changes in a couple other players games in the last week. Coincidence?????

Way too early in the season to really make any final judgements about rookies. Addy doesn't have the foot speed that Crawford and Nansi have which means it will probably make it a bit of a longer period of time to make the adjustment to the pace of the OHL. In tight hockey games he's not going to get many minutes, especially late in games on the fourth line. I think with more games and more ice time it will come for him. He's got the size and frame to go with a big shot. I think he's likely going to have to simplify his game some, make the necessary adjustments to the pace and then build out off of that.

I do agree though, he is starting to show signs of growth and I thought he looked good Sunday as well. The fourth line was a little more involved throughout the game where as they never touched the ice in the third period Saturday. If the Attack can have some games where the score isn't quite so tight they can play a few more shifts during games which will make a difference. It puts a lot of pressure on the younger players playing so few minutes as they want to show they belong and can sometimes try to do too much.

Its a bit of a catch 22, any other year id be a bit frustrated with the minutes of the rookies, but this year is a bit different, games are more important this year so I get the lack of ice. Crawford is a rare type who plays older then 16.

Look at Cormier, I wouldn't say he got lots of ice last year, and he looks like a very solid third line player as a 17 year old. Teresigni hasn't had a great start but I'm sure he'll get there.

Next year all these 07s will have more ice then they could imagine given all the loses up front they will see.

Personally, that's one of the best parts of watching OHL hockey is the development of the rookies. I really enjoy seeing the progress of how they enter the league to when they leave. It will be a frustrating season at times as those kids will have to be special to earn more minutes and play up in the lineup. So far Crawford has bucked the trend of playing limited fourth line minutes entering the league and rightfully so. I don't know if he'll be a superstar in the league but he does so many things really well. Nansi has had flashes as well as his skill set really stands out when he has the puck and room to work. Smith hasn't played a whole lot but I really like his game, plays a straight up simple defensive minded game but he's rarely out of position. I would love to see Ethier get a game or two eventually as I think he has a sneaky upside with his skating and offensive skill.

Cormier has done a nice job in the 3C role. He skates well, competes every night and has seemingly embraced the checking role. I think he'll be a scorer eventually but the work he's doing now will better round out his game. Tersigni has struggled this year but I thought he had some nice shifts in Saturday's game. I was surprised he came out of the line up for Sunday but that's still some positive signs for him to get back on track. I think the strength of the 07 forward group has really challenged the returning players and surprised in a positive way.

I just re read my post I didn't word that well. When I said I wasn't throwing mud I didn't mean at players. I have noticed a change in the last week and I personally feel it is at least in part to the new attitude behind the bench. Darren Rumble brings a definite change in how the staff operates and I'm going to leave it at that.

No worries. I understood the reference.

Your man Stewy is benefitting by the 'change'
He's played his role effectively, and looks very focused in practice.
He also looks like he is enjoying things here .
Glad to hear, I dare not comment , but I thought he's played well. Maybe a dumb penalty on Sunday. He has been more controlled and contributing. I hope for him he has a solid spot in the top 9
You guys need a win tonight

He's been on the third line the last few games with Cormier and Waddick and they've chewed up some solid minutes for the Attack. He's noticeably more in control this year and managing the PIMS. He adds value to the line up playing the way he is and earned the increase in his ice time.

Not a great night, nothing was clicking. George was human. Team seems to have trouble out of the gate.

Stewy was one of a few who showed up tonight.

Apparently, not too many others...

I'll be honest great road game by flint. They came ready to play and set the tone pretty early on. Props to them.. When it comes to how we played there was few positives to take away but we were resilent and didn't really give up until the deflating goal in the third. Stewy was by far one of the better players last night. Barlow doesn't seem quite right I don't know exactly why but hopefully he can turn things around. He's still getting points but I wouldn't say he's playing to his potential. It wasn't Carters night but the team did not help him out at all either. Our special teams were pretty atrocious. Let's hope Friday is a better day. I assume Corbin Friday and Carter for the green machine Saturday. Let's go boys the season is still early but it is still slipping by and we are not where we should be. We need to be better.
