Just curious, as an outsider, what do you see they can do to improve things on ice, within the team's framework ?
I really don't know. You have a star in Barlow, who seems to be different especially since he came back from in jury. Guindon is a consistent performer. I believe Goure and Burroughs are very good OA players and are relied on almost too much. to the point where at the end of games they are tired. PP, PK, reg shift. I think a better use of more guys would help. George has looked more human this year, which is understandable as teams have been able to see him more times and get a read on him. Your D is the area that needed improvemnet at the deadline and it wasn't really addressed. SMith is a good 3-4 guy for sure. I'm not sure if this coach is getting all of the potential out of your team. I just think they shouldn't be in 6th 1 point out of 7th and 4 points out of 8th

Owen Sound
The owners have won a championship using that methodology in 2011. In that time period, teams like Kitchener, Windsor, Ottawa, etc have not won. You may not believe that this is the proper business model, but there is no proof that the other way is a true bullet proof business model either.

Im blessed that Im retired so I can control much of my day to day income, but i know tons of people who are struggling, no doubt that tickets and other entertainment expenses are the first to go. If it comse down to paying your living expenses vs going to an Attack game, the Attack game goes by the wayside.
I've got about another 20 years of employment to reach retirement but I'm very much looking forward to being one of the rink rats hanging out in the afternoons watching practice lol. Hockey has become my primary winter hobby and having moved here from Thunder Bay I love being able to watch this level of hockey in Owen Sound.

goure and burroughs played 17 and 16 minutes last night. no chance they are 'tired'. average ice time for both are a hair above 21 minutes. thats pretty average for overage players. as an example sop of kitchener plays an average of 20:30, beck is at 20:12 and bowman is at 19:45

are you saying someone else should play more? lol

Can anybody get an account to In Stat if they are willing to pay for it or is it a tool limited to those affiliated with teams? It seems like a great tool to have access to.

i think you can, but its like 7k a year.

honestly its amazing, im not a video scout at all so i dont use it for that, but you can see things like hits, battles won, ice time, type of ice time, where goalies give up goals, etc.

Hey hes back!! I'm saying that I'd have another set of PK guys for sure. One game on a Wednesday night isn't going to hurt them, it's the 3 in 3 or 3 in 2 and 1?2.

I forgot the lol.

but who is qualified then? and why is it an issue if they are playing the same as most top overages and producing? goure is 8th in league scoring and burroughs is 24th?

ive only seen the attack play twice, once in person, and the biggest issue for me is that barlow has not looked like the same player all year. that was before the injury as well. he plays like rehkopf, barkey or even romani, the attack are pushing for a top seed.

I’m looking forward to being close to recreational skiing. How far to decent down hill skiing from OS?

I'm sure there is 2 guys guys on the whole team, Craweford maybe. So you are saying in your pro opinion that 4 F should be the PK ?

your missing the point, just because you think that they play too much, the actual numbers suggest otherwise. their minutes are in line with most overages, and its not limiting them, they are producing as well as most expected, if not better. they have 5 forwards averaging over 2 minutes a game on the pk.

london has 5 guys who are all average much higher numbers on the pk, over 3 and a half minutes, mostly the same level of players (barkey, etc).

saginaw had 5 pre trade deadline, now at 6, the highest being almost 4 minutes a game. that player is playing 23 minutes and doing well.

you can attack me and my 'pro opinion' but at least i divulge my background and whatever biases i have. my biases are meaningless when im just using time on ice to show some arguments may not have merrit. thats not a pro opinion, its basic reading.

Owen Sound to Blue Mountains is about 45 to 60 minutes. I've not skied the slopes personally but they are quite popular. The Blue Mountain Village has some nice shops and restaurants as well.
Blue Mountain is excellent, it's the best hill in Ontario. Searchmont just outside the Soo might be the second best hill in the province, and is probably just a bit better than Boyne in Michigan but there is way more apres ski stuff in Boyne. Depends what you are looking for.

To get anything better than Blue Mountain, you probably have to go to Vermont or Quebec.

You just stated that you have watched the team play once live and once on TV, I'm just saying that it is possible that their fitness isn't where it should be at the end of games. It isn't always about numbers. A buddy of mine (NHL scout) used to say he needed the eye test. I think there are a few on here that go to the bayshore to watch pqactice, I bet it was a conditioning one today

Are you able/permitted to divulge that info concerning ice time, etc...on here/HBs? It would probably make for a great thread if you're so inclined (assuming of course that the info is not copyright protected). I have no knowledge of such things. So, if the info is not protected, you in?

Blue Mountain & Searchmount are good for Ontario. Mattawa is alright too, nice place, but further from the kids.
I’ll tour Horseshoe valley in spring or fall to see if it’s a place to settle

Horseshoe isn't bad. Bit of a step down in size, but you can't find anything more accessible than that.

Owen Sound
Sam McCue being a late 05 born player is first time NHL draft eligible this year. I'm curious how he finishes this season in Owen Sound and if he can climb the rankings. He's got a good looking shot and projects to play in the Attack's top 6 down the stretch which should position him well to produce counting stats. He seems to be a really good compliment to Goure and Burroughs. Wouldn't at all be surprised if he cracks 30 goals.

This team is horrendous its so hard to watch right now.. I don't know if Rumble needs to go or if Dale needs to go or what but it's not good it's not fun and it's not how this team is suppose to be.. they need to wake the heck up and realize no one will feel sorry for them and only they can turn it around if they truly want to and are willing to put in the effort.
