go ahead and look at the data, i have it too, we can compare, but i'm sure the trade deadline is so close your employer will be looking for your opinion on possible trades instead of you combing the chat rooms with idiots like me
sorry charlie, im not sure you have the same data i have. your not an idiot, be nice, your just very biased to a 4th line player on owen sound that sometimes blinds you. its human for fans to do that.

besides, stewart is on the 4th line, it should be the best 4th line in the ohl, maybe better then some ahl 4th lines.

Check who is now on the 4th line....explains alot in the change of attitude
oh im well aware, im just poking the bear a bit. either played well, he played 12 shifts, 8:50 in total and was spread out fairly equal among the 4 lines, 1st line a bit less.

Stewart wasn't mentioned in my post, if you look, I was concerned about Ethier playing his shifts with the 4th forward line. I would have liked to see him play with a better line to set him up for success. If Stewart is on the 4th I guess im slagging him too, in my concern for a young defenseman.

I said you put him out with the 4 th line, as in he is playing defense with his d partnert, while the 4th line on the ice with him, totalling 5 players. 3 of which are the 4th line. not that hard to understand is it? Just if I was a coach, I would do more to set the kid who has played 3 game up to succeed
Pretty simple actually if you put him out with the top line he is now on the ice with the other teams top players. putting him out with the 4th line he's more than likely playing against the opponents 4th line.

sIm sure i saw mcguires gloves fall just as the reply stopped, before hookey, but thats what i saw. but if they didnt show anything on the reply (i disagree but dont care enough to argue) how could you be so sure either way.
I sit in that end and you saw right. Hookey was on his way to address the hit and as soon as he got close Mcguires gloves came off he was ready and willing. I do give him full credit for not being one of those guys that don't answer the bell and cry about"He started it"

i thoguht you could see that on the start of the reply.

I thought that was pretty basic hockey 101. You play the rookies and D against other teams lower lines.

As you said, if you play them with your own top lines, you in theory have to play them against the other teams top lines as well. THAT, in fact, is setting them up for failure @ktownfan

You are forgetting that on home ice we decide who he plays against. Regardless, just hope the kid succeeds.

So then you play the kid with the 1st line against a 3rd line, but then your 3rd line has to go against the 1st line, and we complain about that.

The kid did very well, im not sure why there was any concern with how he was used?

Darren Rumble has way more successful coaching experience then me or you, or we'd be on the bench of an OHL team, so probably fair to trust his judgement.

When is the next trade going down? This can't be it.
Still waiting to see what teams like Brantford and Erie are doing and maybe Guelph. Erie is the one to watch in my opinion. They are missing picks for this year's draft that I would assume they want to try and fill out. Maybe they are content standing pat and making the playoffs but that would seem odd. North Bay now has a surplus of D and maybe pry one out of there? Based on current market prices and what Owen Sound has left I'm not expecting a major move but I still think they are trying for something.

Does anyone else feel like trading away our first rounder will be wasted if we don't make more moves?
I feel like the team will finish the season the same with or without the trades that have been made.
I'm sure there must be more to come?

i think they are still looking, but also think there may be more to the surface to trading the 1st round pick. may just not have been a fit between player and team.

I agree, we will see I guess

You're not the first poster to mention Addy may not have been happy and... yes I can accept that it doesn't always work between player and team. But in Addy's case, this raises a few cynical questions for me about the team, its culture, and/or how it's supporting players.

Less than a year ago, this team rolled out the red carpet and pulled no punches in trying to get Addy to flip on his NCAA commitment. Then he gets here and barely gets a chance to play. There's always the chance that he's just not that good and Crawford and Nansi really truly passed him on the depth charts, but he's a 6'4 16 year old, can anyone really say they saw enough to form a solid opinion of what he is?

To me, Addy being traded is a sign of bigger, underlying failures with this team. Based on DeGray's comments last week, the plan seems to be... buying at the deadline was always the plan, regardless of how it looked on the ice. So if you're going to buy, buy. The team was always more than a top 4 d and middle six winger away from competing.

There are two days left to show the fans that the team is serious about picking a direction, otherwise it looks like the move that's been made is just handcuffing the ability of the team to compete in future years. Looking at the prices of overage players this deadline, the Attack could have restocked the cupboards just on Goure and Sedley...

Also, incredibly bummed to see Lawrence traded to London.

No doubt crawford has passed him, not sure about nansi yet. But you sure missed a huge opportunity to restock the cupboard if this is your team on the 11th. Goure and Sedley for sure would have brought huge return

I have to honestly wonder if Dale wants to make more moves but after watching the moves made so far I just don't think we have what we need in order to get what we need in terms of stock.. if that makes sense unless there is a corresponding move. But the clock is ticking and if something is going to happen we better poop or get off the pot so to speak.

I think he's still looking but I feel with what we have available to offer we likely have to wait for some of the bigger pieces to come off the board, which is now happening, so that some of the other pieces come into play. We don't have the assets to be involved with the players who are moving around currently.

The prices are absolutely crazy this year, especially the OA market. Wow.

I realize you don't have any real major assets that dale is wanting to trade, but the spread has just become wider between you guys and the othere "players.
