well I mean that's the hope when you're buying at the deadlineTeam is better today than yesterday...
Let's make it a lot better with two more trades with Sarnia and North Bay...that would make us a formidable opponent in any series with some grit and toughness all over the lineup.Much
Smith is a good add. Still don't see the thought process thoughMuch
Just a hunch but it leaves them with most of their remaining picks to add another piece or two. Still have some 06s of value as well if need be. It makes sense if there is more to come which at this point would make sense. I think they still need a right shot D. Also now have an open import slot.Smith is a good add. Still don't see the thought process though
It really does not cost OS anything to improve significantly now until draft time 2026.Smith is a good add. Still don't see the thought process though

What 06's are you thinking of?Just a hunch but it leaves them with most of their remaining picks to add another piece or two. Still have some 06s of value as well if need be. I don't really agree with the idea of buying this year but now that they've started they need to keep going. Can't be half way in after moving their first round pick.
Not saying they move them but Cormier(06 1st round), Tersigni(06 2nd round) and Rogers(06 2nd round). Cormier is worth the most of that group but depending on what caliber of pieces you're bringing in, it's unlikely he's moved. Shine is off of Tersigni I think but he likely still has some modest value. Rogers would be tougher to move as he's our best future D piece as of now depending on how the organization feels about Smith or Ethier but neither have really played to get a fair read on them. What 06's are you thinking of?
LOL that's not what was said and you know that. Don't be so soft.So I'm not allowed to post my opinion about this team and how it performs and voice my concerns. Seems that you have a lot to say . This page is only for those who think they know everything about hockey. And your right. no sense in posting anything here unless you agree with the few experts .
I thought this was a forum to voice our opinions .
Ya man...Dom to pair with Carter and Nelson for the solid Dman we still need.It really does not cost OS anything to improve significantly now until draft time 2026.
North Bay?
The Attack could likely convince NB to move DiVincentiis. I can’t imagine what OS could offer for Nelson.Ya man...Dom to pair with Carter and Nelson for the solid Dman we still need.
I don't think carter george would like that. The Attack could likely convince NB to move DiVincentiis. I can’t imagine what OS could offer for Nelson.
Attack would have needed their '07 1st rounder. But I feel like Tersigni or Cormier will be dealt tooThe Attack could likely convince NB to move DiVincentiis. I can’t imagine what OS could offer for Nelson.
Andrew and Jacob LeBlanc make sense I think. Andrew can be a middle six forward contributing solid depth scoring and Jacob would be a nice compliment D on the right side with some offence. Right side D options are tough to figure out.I still think they need a top 6 forward, the import addition to the trade was interesting for me.
Barlow - Goure - Burroughs
Petro - Guindon - ?
Waddick - Cormier - Hookey
Stewart - Crawford - McCue
Smith - Sedley
Jordan - Steen
Peto - Rogers
McCue, Waddick and Hookey probably rotate around based on who is playing well and who is not.
I could potentially see Rogers flipped for an 04 or 05 D to knock Steen down, but there really isn't anyone that stands out as on the market.
Moving a first round pick for part of a Nelson deal would have made sense. I'm interested to see what Degray's plan is. Moving your first round pick is no small thing. I'm underwhelmed by the return, but what do I know.Attack would have needed their '07 1st rounder. But I feel like Tersigni or Cormier will be dealt too
I think we have to reserve judgement until all the moves are made. There's more coming, I'm confident in that. I think once everything is laid out on the table it will make more sense.Moving a first round pick for part of a Nelson deal would have made sense. I'm interested to see what Degray's plan is. I don't see how you can possibly make a deal like this unless you are really confident that he comes back. The value is just really out of whack otherwise. I can't recall the last time I saw a rookie first rounder dealt for a player like Smith. The big risk though is that Smith turns pro, even though the Ducks don't have to sign him (and given their defensive depth overall, they don't seem to have a pressing need to have him turn pro). But that's a huge risk.
Matejicek was replaceable and not going to return to this team next year, but damn it stings to lose Addy and we may only have a depth scoring forward to show for it next year.
And who knows if the pick was a high one, too.
I think many people estimate the value Konnor Smith brings to a team. He is a big physical defensive defenceman who is tough to play against. I expect he will soon become a fan favourite in Owen Sound. In my opinion I have always thought he would bring a big return at the trade deadline.Moving a first round pick for part of a Nelson deal would have made sense.
