You are probably right about Keane but I saw his name as possibly available and wanted to get some conversation going here. We all see things a little different when I saw Montgomery I didn't mind him not flashy but I thought could fit what I feel we could use. For the record I'm not saying Dale would or even should add it is just my thought that I would like an older stay at home guy but there is a reason I'm posting here and not running a team. If one of our returning D step into that role and can fill it BONUS!

Not only with London Dale is very good at bringing in players that haven't reached potential and need a fresh start. Those types also fit his trading habits as he is not the "sell the farm" type(thank god). Small key additions to address a need and those usually come at a reasonable price. Being as the freeze is on I don't see anything happening until he sees how everyone comes to camp and as another poster said probably a few games. One player I feel will fit the role I want is Madden Steen and who knows if he has worked hard this summer maybe he does step in. We'll find out in what 5-6 weeks.
You are right as well with regards to player type and needs. I could see an 02 forward added to the top 6, but eventually I think you are right that they will need a top defender to also fill a rope. Perhaps Nolan Seed or the new import could fill that role, but it seems hard to envision that, both look like good depth types to this point. I am interested to see how guys like Okitundo and Steen look, those two together would be a nice shut down pair for the next few years. Okitundo was up and down, but I liked how he played at the start of the season and at the end of the season.
I'm probably wrong because Dale is loyal to his guys and I say that as a compliment but. My opinion this is a year to make a serious push we have IMHO one of the top goalies in the league as an O/A I'm not convinced that there aren't 2 O/A upgrades out there that could be had for a reasonable price. Again theres a reason I'm not being paid to run a team this is only my opinion.

good OAs can be had relatively cheaply. If that is your only real need then you would usually see the team make those acquisitions.
Agreed, this and next year will be the year to go. Interesting things is, depending on how the team looks this year, you probably will only loose one of Lawrence, Burroughs or Goure and an 02 if they get one, they may bring back 11 or 12 forward the following year. The thought of a 2 year window is legit, as long as Votary performs as we hope.
I don't know if your thinking he will move on or just forgot but in year 2 I feel Sedley will be in that mix as an o/a which gives us the pick of the best 3 and a piece to move for market value of o/a's at the time.Also yes the goaltending is not a sure thing that's why I'd like to see a push this year when goaltending is set. I feel it will be set in yr 2 also but one never knows.
Ya, I figure Sedley is a lock, and 2 of Lawrence, Burroughs and Goure up front. Trading one of those forwards should net a nice return to help for the second run as well, assuming they all come back for an OA year.
Either way there have enough forward depth for 2 really good runs.
Colby Barlow with 2 shorthanded goals and an assist against an obviously over matched Swiss team. Colby looks like he's leaner and maybe a bit quicker. I was watching him away from the puck,as much as tv will allow and he had a very strong game in that area. They interviewed him in the 1st intermission and his maturity is even higher than it was last year.

This seems like the most signed players pre-camp in as long as I can remember. I wonder if that means DD is looking to make a few deals or just wants camp to be a battle for spots on the depth chart. Last year there were spots earned at camp i.e. Boniauto, Fantino, Okitundu, Jordan. But the roster seems full right now so I'm sensing a deal or two being made or some vets being released/cut if any surprises emerge from unsigned players at camp.

I would add Mitchell Young, he was one of the better point producers in Jr B last year as a defenceman and is just 16. Kyle Morey was a point a game guy as a 16 year old as well.
I figure we will see a forward added via trade at some point in the near future.

Yes. I heard that Young and Morey had a good year last year, as well as others like Bibby and Thacker. However, there is a lot of depth on this team and going to take something special during camp to knock out any of the incumbents listed. I'm curious as to why you left Uens off your roster prediction. Do you have some inside info?
Your right I don't remember this many signings and in a year where we aren't losing a lot. Makes you wonder if maybe there is a move or 2. Personally I would probably prefer moving a few prospects if they don't fit right now as opposed to draft picks.

More like fantasizing. Agreed it would certainly change the dynamic of the forward group, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.
If it somehow works out for the team it becomes a bonus, however it's more wishful thinking by us fans then actual possibility.

Not at all, just an oversight by me.
I could see them moving a younger player, an 04 or 05 for a top 02 or 03 and then use one of those players to fill in the loss.
I'm just putting this out there with no name attached but what if you could add a quality World JR caliber 02 for free.
Could you imagine if they could convince him to come back and also get Howard to come?
