That really was a must win and it was great to see the boys step up, winning a big game without a Barlow goal to get them there.

Also, betting odds right now that Carter George is the Day 1 starter in September??

Really liked the forward lines last night. Nice win. Carter George is a stud. Go Nationals :)
I absolutely love Hookey on the top line with Colby he just brings a different dimension to that line. He is making the trade with Soo look very heavily Attack favoured. Tersigni and Cormier are both really starting to flourish. Tersigni and Papais seem to gel nicely together.

I would take that bet I think a 19 yr old Corbin Votary will get his fair chance at being the guy and he knows where the bar is set and will put in the work to be above that. I'm not saying George won't take the job but I think there will be a healthy competition to start the season.

Tersigni bad givreaway on 2nd flint goal, behind the back no looker at the flint blueline, breakaway goal, he is skating well but the playoffs are a different animal, physically amped up. We will see

Playing really well of late ....16yr old who is getting some more ice and is making the best of it

He bounced back with a solid effort after the mistake. Coach could have limited his minutes but he didn't and Antonio could have shyed away from his game and he didn't. Kids make mistakes, it's what they do after them that shows what they are made of.

I have yet to see any player at any level that doesn't have the odd bad give away. If you don't make mistakes are you really playing the game? I call hockey the game of mistakes How many Championship trophies have been awarded because someone made a bad give away. It's all about learning and getting better.

Or don't want to come off. Was a great game thu
Does he ever want to leave the ice? I swear that type of stuff has a real lasting negative effect on the team, both on the ice and in the room with the other players. You let a guy do what he wants, it is telling the other players they don't mean as much as him to the team, which is insane. Maybe if its Brandt Clarke you get some leeway, but not this kid. "Live and die" with him as the assistant coach said in the Times months ago. Right then, I knew this team was going nowhere because the coaches did not have a handle on the room. If a player like that can have that much freedom, kiss your chances at success goodbye. It is too bad because there are a few leaders that are frustrated with this and clearly have no say in the process. "Live and die by him, he is our best dman..." Jordan Hill direct quote.

I understand what he brings to the team, but coaches needs to tighten the leash a lot. It was pretty much 3 on 2 after the first minute of OT. No chance for Votary. On the plus side, a few of the rookies are starting to emerge as players with more ice time. That will be helpful next year. This year is basically done, looking forward to next year. I have been thinking for a while that the choice of OAs will be crucial. My money is on 29, 3 and 7 but it will probably be 9, 25 and 7.

Does not matter if he does not want to leave the ice...league is full of players who want to play...if he is on the ice for shifts that are too long it is on the coaches...anyone that blames the player for staying on to long is putting the blame in the wrong place...our coaches obviously don't mind or they would of corrected that

Which is why I added the direct quote from the assistant coach. Clearly there are some issues that are not being corrected by the COACHES. I did not "blame" the player, I simply added an observation that many fans are frustrated by throughout the season. "League is full of players who want to play..." doesn't even have meaning to the issue/observation some of us are stating.

I agree it is on the coaching which is why I see a team like Erie go out and get Stan friggin Butler, a legend in this league, who could have come in and added some much needed structure and accountability to a team with immense skill and talent that is being wasted this season in my opinion.

Also, the whole "next year is our year" quotes we get from DD all the time won't mean much if the players we have now see how this year played out and may choose to go elsewhere because of the culture created in the room this year. Change is needed clearly, I just hope DD has the guts to make the difficult decisions instead of coddling people who he has groomed and therefore has too much of a personal connection to. Thus is a major junior hockey team, not a family. The successful teams make the changes, difficult or not, when it is needed as we saw Kitchener do with their coaching change. I applaud them for having the stones to do that mid-season. We all want the Attack to do better and it has been a very frustrating and sometimes head-shaking season at the Lum. Let's see forward progress, not stagnant 30 win projections. Yay, we are basically hoping for a .500 season. I don't get that notion at all.

Jordon Hill needs to give his head a shake. 9 is NOT their best Dman. Yes he has some points, but that is not from playing defence. Most teams can skate around him in our end, he can't hit anyone, just swings his stick, I could go on but I won't. Maybe DD should replace Hill because his defence plan sucks. IMO

Your d zone coverage seems very confusing, I see forwards down below the goal line a t times. I'm impressed with Steen, stay at home steady Dman.
