Definitely not a game they should’ve lost. I dunno what to say anymore. It’s concerning with the talent they have up forward. Maybe I was the only one expecting so much more from this team.
Not sure about last night either, rebounds and bad coverage around the net led to all three goals. Barlow had a few great opportunities but couldn't score. I think it is time to roll with George for a bit and see what happens. Chenard is not getting it done. Saginaw team has some nice pieces going forward.

B card...10 game limit until your team is eliminated???
Votary is out with mono which likely keeps him out long term. George must be on an A card. Shame for Votary as he was playing good hockey and had taken the net.

I think at this point you either ride Chenard and work with him to figure it out for playoffs or you split the net with George. If George outplays him for a stretch then I guess it's his net. With the current slump the teams below us have closed the gap considerably so there may not be a whole lot of patience at this point in the season. I think you have to play whoever is giving you the best chance to win.

Nevermind. Greg Cowan confirms George is on a B card and is limited to ten games until St Mary's is eliminated. Going to have to ride Chenard regardless of performance it looks like. Really need Chenard to get going.

You're correct. The date to upgrade to an A card was January 10th so he has 5 games left he can play.

Greg Cowan tweeted that Luddington has been practicing with the team and was at Saturday's game.

In my limited views, he's tall and lanky, great shot, and stick handling ability.

He's 17 so he'd need to hit the ground running next season, in a go for it year.

An interesting situation. The good news is he is interested, he's been here all week with the team .

Owen Davy, G, brought up on emergency basis.
Carter has some games in St. Marys this week, leading to their playoffs, then he will be back at some point.
Davy is an Attack '22 draft pick, U18.
Hes been playing on London Junior Knights .

He'll turn 18 in the fall. Player's with that combination of size, skating and playmaking are pretty rare. I think it's worth the risk personally. If you could get his feet wet with a few games this year it would reinforce what is needed going into next season to be prepared.

I don't believe Davy can play unless there is an injury if he doesn't sign a B card, which seems unlikely. I would think they will carefully choose which games George plays and Chenard starts and finishes the rest. Would be great timing for Chenard to step up and go on a run. Votary won't be back for awhile, maybe not before playoffs depending on his recovery, so Chenard has the opportunity to end his junior career with a bang if he can get hot.

Walters has been super fortunate to have such a talented and young squad. They've brought him this far. He's a good coach but it doesn't reach much further than that. Time after time he is being out coached. Constantly changing lines, ensuring that there is no way to develop any sort of chemistry. Practicing all week with a certain approach and lines, then 30 minutes before the game in Flint he decides its wise to do a complete 180. Resulting in an L - Nice one Walters. Spitfires the next day with the same outcome. You wonder why OS are slipping? Because teams that have struggled early in the season have been able to generate consistency within their squads, managing injuries appropriately and ensuring players needs are being met - over the length of the season. OS unable to hold a lead which is a massive concern. Big question mark is over why an "A" was removed from one of the hardest working players amongst the group. Would love to know what went on there. Read a few of comments in this thread that Walters is well liked by the players, this is 100% false. If you believe this to be true then you must have ties to this organization or you've simply been misled. Understandable. However, it's time to dispose of the rose coloured glasses folks, this is not working. Plenty of movement this summer. Degray only concerned for his first rounders! Which is nothing new. Remember it takes a team and a collective to succeed, from top to bottom. Super disappointed in this organization and the way they operate. Time for a change, but unlikely!

Walters days are numbered or there’s going to be a lot more than Unes asking to be traded………….

The only thing he didn't do was score. The kids a real gem. After the game Lalonde skated over and had a word and a tap of the pads for him . He recognized how well Carter played.
Lalonde might not have the record you’d expect for a signed NHL player, but he has the best sportsmanship. He is an incredible teammate, and I’m glad he went to Carter to give him recognition.

watched the game last night, I have questions and have followed your team abit since Stewart got traded from here.
Barlow has seemed like a real perimeter player, he has 38 goals, so he obviously is super talented, but the few games I've seen, he hasn't done much. George looks like a goalie for sure, maybe you guys should have traded for one of our goalies to get you some time and bring george along slowly. You have a 3 rd line that is huge and could be super physical, but you guys make it easy on the opposong D by trapping every single time. Stewart when he was here would kill 1 or 2 D on the forecheck every game. It seems like you guys are always backing up. Guindon has looked good every game I've watched. Goure seems to stay out too long on his shifts. Steen looks like a good steady Dman. Seed and Sedley look like forwards at time. Excellent skaters though. I just think you have to pressure opposing d men and make them a bit nervous. They don't get hit because you are trapping. Anyway, my two cents. I hope they correct it soon, wouldn't want to play London or Windsor in the 1st round.

This team doesn't like to play the physical game. Always waving their stick at the puck instead of playing the man.
I agree that 25,22 and 10 should be able to make opposing d-men nervous. But for some reason they won't play the body. Last night I only saw that line make two meaningful hits. Do you think they are being coached to not play the body? If so...why?
(I should add that I do see 39, 7, and 11 try to play the physical game more often. So some players are trying to. Just not the ones that should be)

In a trap game as sson as the opposition has the puck, the team backs off and tries to funnel the puck one side or the other. If they play the body, it takes them out of position. I can tell you that there is nothing Stewart likes more than running over someone. Obviuosly told not to.

The coaching staff has definitely been working with Stewart. The differences I've picked up on since his arrival to Owen Sound are that he seems to be playing with more structure and control. He ran around a bit early on and got into trouble with penalties. He's done a nice job reigning it in and picking his spots better. He's still running over a few guys every game but doesn't put himself in a bad spot positionally. I think he's made positive strides so far, personally.
