No big deal...but I need to ask...how are you related to 22??
Nope, but i have admitted I was a big fan of him in Kingston. The kid was a force when he was allowed to forecheck, 3-4 big hits every game. I'm sure there is regret on both sides of the trade. That's hockey, we are allowed to have favorites.

Why didn't it work out for him in Kingston?

Assuming your boys will throw everything and the kitchen sink at the knights tonight. Should be a good game. Good luck
Thankyou and I wish the Knights good luck back. All I want to see is a game like Tues night only with a different ending lol.

supposedly owen sound wanted him, i don't think it wssn't working out
Usually if he is as valuable as you suggest, teams don't just trade them for what amounted to a 5th round pick (I figure Uens and the third countered each other). I think you have said 'he wasn't used right' in Kingston, now the same in Owen Sound? Maybe its not Kingston or Owen Sound and maybe the kid just is really good at some things but limitations on others?

Nothing bad about the kid, just expectations vs reality. Similar numbers, similar penalty minutes.

sounds like this is getting personal, so we will agree to disagree

How is it personal? Im simply looking at facts to support or critique decisions that the team makes and statements that you make. Facts are not hyperbole because hyperbole can show many forms where as facts are pretty black and white.

You don't believe that he is being used the right way now, but also said that he was not used the right way in Kingston. You're free to make those statements, but we are also free to question them. You can give negative critique to any player and you may be right and you may be wrong, but its your opinion, what confuses me is in a new environment and new opportunity, but the results appear to generally be the same.

At some point is not the usage and not the coaches, at some point the player just has limitations and needs to be used in the right spots. That's not personal at all, I love that Stewart is on the team, we need someone like him, but its a factual realistic look at his career so far and perhaps what his role should be based on his entire OHL career so far.

The Attack have a good young core and solid goaltending for next year. Look forward to seeing how they develop. One thing I noticed switching back and forth to the Kitchener series was that OS never stopped skating, even when the game was out of reach. Compare that to Windsor never started skating at any point. Hmmm...

Who is going to develop them? Are we getting new leadership on the bench?

Tough game last night, tough season. Hopefully there will be changes in coaching next year. Team has too much talent to have a season like this. Hopefully Barlow is ok. Refing was one-sided as the norm against London, but no sense complaining as nothing will ever change in the OHL as long as Hunter is n the picture. Go Kitchener Go

Coach and GM need to go

Another 30 win season in the books. :baghead:
I would be shocked if they let Dale go, but happily surprised. We will never see success when all he does is strive for mediocrity.

I said this earlier in the year, but we never see this team “go for it”. And thats a problem as most teams have a all-in year every few years at their cores peak. Next year should be ours as it will be Barlows last year.

PP chances in the series were fairly even except in the 3rd period of last nights game where the Attack's frustration was showing.

Probably the saddest I've felt about this team since the last sweep in 2010. This group of players are really likeable and deserved better. Hard to watch them so beaten, battered, and bruised at the end. Papais spending his last moments of junior hockey in the box, because he was playing defence.

A lot of things went wrong, like whatever caused Chenard's fall off, and Goure's facial injury (heartbreaking for him because he looked like he was destined for a pro contract this summer), but the issues with the team run so much deeper and it was clear from January onward that things weren't going to get better.

The positives? Barlow (although robbed by injuries of 50) having maybe the most dominant goal scoring season in Attack history - certainly since Angelidis - and proving to be such a special player. Votary emerging as a legit #1, especially in the playoffs, means this team is set in net next year with another strong tandem. Taos Jordan going from late round pick walk-on to reliable minute eating defender in two seasons. The trio of underagers looking great down the stretch when given more minutes.

The negatives? Too many to dwell on right now. I don't expect Dale to be given the axe, but his loyalty to a coach that clearly lost the room and appeared outcoached and outmaneuvered all season is a big strike against him, and if the same guy is behind the bench in the fall, I'll certainly be in the GM out come training camp.

The team finished three points behind last year's squad in what was supposed to be a contending season, and got three fewer playoff games to show for it. A lot of players on the team either stagnated (Petrovsky comes to mind as a guy who struggled to take the next step, Chafe another), or outright regressed (Uens to the point of being traded). I can only point the finger at management and coaching on that one.

And it will take some shrewd moves to have me optimistic about next season. The Mem Cup host is in our conference so unlike 2011, there's no backdoor option even if this team had the balls to go all in. Dale needs to hit a homerun on the import pick, or at least find us another Petrovsky who can step in right away with room to grow. The team needs a strong defenceman, better (and certainly costlier) than what was given up for Sawyer.

Anyway, this post is getting way too long. Thanks for another fun season of chatting Attack hockey on here folks, and thank god the priority selection is around the corner! Hope springs eternal.

I by no means pretend to know, however when factoring in the smaller market you all have and all the factors that go into that can you afford to go all in? Does your owner (s) have deep enough pockets to perhaps struggle at the gate for the inevitable "post" season or seasons of a rebuild? Are 2-6 playoff dates more important then ever going all in? Hoping one year thru drafting and solid trades you hit the jackpot?
Again I have no idea as I'm not an Attack fan nor do I pretend to know the right way. But going all in could be risky for a team that is just paying the bills after a few playoff draws? Cheers the boys hung in there with some serious injury challenges!

I do agree with the small market aspect but, i mean, we only had 2 home playoff games this year. And remember, you have to be pretty darn bad to miss the playoffs altogether. Even in a rebuild year you can snag a 7-8 seed and get your 2 home games. Theres no way we cannot function after going all-in 1 year.

Even if we had to suck the next year or 2 fan interest would not go away and i’m sure we would still sell tickets.
