Your boys played a better game yesterday. I was very happy for Votary, although I was surprised he got the start. Great rebound game for the kid. Did anyone notice Sim skate down and drink out of Votary's water bottle to taunt him. Now that is a "puke" move. I saw Stewart ask him to fight and Sim quickly declined. If you are going to act tough, be tough. I think Hookey and Papais were benched in the third because Stewart took their ice and played well. Still puzzled by his lack of ice. The D were better, not laying all over the ice. Better exits from your zone. Goure still not doing much, and the little guys of yours are falling out of this series. Funny how it gets cranked up in game 69 and beyond.
Good luck to the Attack this week. Grab the game 3 and you never know what happens

just watched the replay of the OT goal, What is 24 laying on the ice for in that situation? Why not follow Diaco across to prevent shot? He lays on the ice way too much

Votary was outstanding yesterday. Easily his best game in an Attack uniform. He's got incredible athleticism and quickness to get to pucks he has no business getting to. I hope he can build off that performance and bring it in game 3 at home.

I've been impressed with Stewart in the series. As others have sat in the penalty box for losing control of their emotions Stewart has kept his cool. He's been in total control while still doing what he does best. It was nice to see him get rewarded with the bump in ice time.

The Attack are going to have to figure out how to generate chances at 5 on 5. They are doing most of their work with the man advantage. They are going to have to fight for the middle of the ice to get the scoring chances. Tough to generate much playing off the perimeter.

Just my opinion but I think he was the guilty party for the give away that led to the scoring chance and over-reacted trying to make up for it by laying out for a block. End result is he took himself out of the play and Diaco just went around him, as he should in that scenario. Good players are going to take advantage of the extra time and space to work their way into a better shot selection.

London's speed and forecheck are giving the Attack fits. They aren't able to exit the D zone with speed and aren't able to overcome the speed in the O zone.

I know there are several posters that like to rag on Sedley for his riverboat gambling style of play, but yesterday's game was a great example of what Sedley brings to the breakout and puck moving for this team, and how much the team suffers when he's not there. Seemed like the only D that could breakout with speed.

Have to agree with you when the Knights are "on" they give pretty much every team fits with the forecheck. Watched a lot of Knights teams over the years but this teams puck pursuit is special.
I haven't been overly impressed with your bench boss BUT credit to him bringing back Votary after a 7-0 loss. Kid truly was incredible .... wow! See ya for Game 3.

The one question going into Game 3 is who will be available to play for the Attack? I don't expect to see Chafe or Brennan and probably shouldn't see Steen with the concussion issues. Sedley returned to the bench after the hit but didn't take a shift so his availability seems to be TBD. Lawrence will be back from suspension up front. If Sedley can't go we will be short on D. We don't have any extra forwards so any further attrition means we are short up front too.

Kinda ironic we could be short on d… lol we released one early in the year because we had to many lol

Cut one and traded one. I believe the goal was to get more playing time for Rogers, which to his credit, has made big strides to close out the season. They probably wish they had another guy back there now though. Invaluable playoff experience for Rogers he likely doesn't get if the team is healthy or hadn't traded Uens. The hope is it pays off down the road. Would be tough if they have to go with 5 D.

So he got a goal. Big deal. Ya he has speed when he wants to play forward, but can't skate back to defend . Always relies on his forwards to cover his ass. He has cost this team all year, but I guess if you like a player that show boats and has a look at me attitude, he's your guy. If he had a been out in the o/t trying to play defense it would have been over sooner. This team will live and DIE with him. And DIE they will. I'll take all the rest of the Dman on this team over him

Look I get it you're one of the big Sedley critics on the board, and what I will say is that the team could really benefit from having a true #1 defender that could shelter Sedley a bit more so the team can play to his strengths and not need him in every situation. But the biggest problem with the team's D as it is currently constructed is we have too many defensive / physical guys who, when the games get tight, resort to a lot of chipping up off the glass. You need a mix and the team skews too far to one side.

Sedley brings an element the team otherwise lacks. If the team is to go anywhere next season, he'll have to be a part of the solution.

Chafe in a full bubble.
20 on D.
Steen is hopefully ready.
Sedley hopeful too.
Sawyer dicey.

Tuesday is about as close to a must win game as we will see this season .

So guys need to be prepared to go , banged up or not .

Be interesting to see if there is any fallout to Lawrence . I don't think the Knights will instigate, but I'm sure they will aggravate.

I am a Sedley fan, always have been. The positives far outweigh some of the perceived/few negatives (long shifts, which a poster refuted with data) IMO. He's always moving, making plays, leading the charge and providing capable defense at the same time. More players like him and Bryant please.

Seed _______65________ 18
Jordan_____ 67 ________10
Steen_______51________ 5
Rogers_____43_________ 0
Sawyer_____52________ -1
Sedley_____ 66_________-6
Petrovski___65_______ -18

Regular season Sedley had 56 points. This would indicate that he was on the ice for 62 goals which is 22% of the total goals scored against the attack. If someone has the players average ice time we could dig a little deeper into these analytics.

I think the key point in your post is "as it is currently constructed". Sedley is a good player but he would be better served playing on the second pair where he can be a little more insulated from the tougher defensive assignments and deployed in more favorable situations. You can't deny his offensive production, top ten in league scoring amongst Defenseman, which would be tough to replace. If the overall team D was a little deeper we likely aren't focusing on his defensive zone play as much. I totally agree that you need guys like him as it's tough in a puck possession game to recover pucks when you have a lot of off the glass and out types on D.

I didn't notice anything with Sawyer during the game Sunday. Scary position to be in with only 4 healthy D potentially.

If Chafe plays with a full bubble that's amazing news for him because he didn't look great going off the ice.

Lawrence showed in game 1 they can get under his skin. Guaranteed he will be a target for the Knights. If somebody is dumb enough to challenge him willingly he probably takes it though lol. I'm assuming they'll stick with the usual chippy stick work etc and avoid the fisticuffs.

I'm sorry to give my opinion. Cahfe being in the lineup or not doesn't matter. Lawrence on the toher hand does. If he imposes himself on the game he can be effective, but the quetion is if he does do that. If Sedley goes up the ice, he needs to work harder to get back. He can be effective, but needs to pick his spots. I think you start the physical guys and have them actually forecheck and hit. You haven't done that in any game I've seen this year. London might not be able to counter that. Votary needs to repeat Sunday. Good luck to you guys

Just to clarify, my comments about Chafe were about him avoiding significant injury. The Attack have had a number of concussions this season and it appeared he was another victim. While Chafe may not be a significant contributor he does for whatever reason get under the skin of the opposition. He's a fairly responsible defensive forward who can at least provide some depth.

I think the team is playing more conservative on the forecheck due to the strength of London's transition game. London does a good job of turning the puck up ice with pace and the Attack are trying to avoid odd man rushes. The result has been a heavy advantage to London in possession time. The Attack will need to make adjustments if they want to generate any form of sustained zone time. I would agree though that they need to get in on the London D and make it harder on them. The London zone exits are too easy.

I think you would need to account for special teams pts. (do they count for +/-?)
And matchups vs. other teams top lines also?.

OS did well to hang around game 2. Played a much better game for the most part and the tender was extremely good.
Home ice matchups may help as well tonight. Enjoy the PO atmosphere at the Bayshore if your heading down tonight. Definitely a soft spot here for the town.

You coming up ?

You coming up ?

Unfortunately work, n the 2.5 hike is a bit much.
You coming up ?

I wish but work n the 2.5 hr hike......
Gotta catch a game at the barn soon. ( hopefully next year ;))
I'm sure the faithful will make it a great atmosphere for themselves n the players. (probly helps its the evil empire stopping by, easy to root against, lol)
Love the small town team support this community gives it squad.

I've gotta second that. Always had a pleasant experience when attending any game in Owen Sound. Very respectful and knowledgeable fans who support their team, win or lose.

Going to be a short bench on D tonight. Papais and Lawrence projected to help out on the back end. Only 4 natural D dressing with Sedley and Sawyer out. Big test for the younger guys like Rogers and Petrovski.
