Owen doesn't believe in standing around the blue line in the offensive zone. Away from the puck he is always moving and probing the weak side like Dahlin used to do his first couple seasons. So glad Krueger won't be around to beat that out of Power.
Thankfully Dahlin seemed to be activating more frequently before this stoppage of games. Having 2 high ability offensive defenseman on the ice at almost all times? I like that.

Damn he's good on the PP. It's a good problem to have but somehow we need to find enough time for Dahlin and Power on the PP.

When MSU's coach wouldn't release Power to play in the WJC's last season, Power handled it gracefully and said all the right things. But that missed opportunity is probably something he's been thinking about.

Pick up 2 stay at home vet dmen to compliment Dahlin and Power and laugh for the next decade as they frustrate the league for 50 min a game.

I will eat crow, Power is significantly more dynamic than I thought he would be.

Is it likely that he’ll get a few games at the end of the season after the NCAA season finishes ?

The Pegula's made it so Mittelstadt replaced O'Reilly after his WJC...I expect Power entry level deal to include 3 working oil-wells as a bonus...

This would be the right call. Stay-at-home D:s like Hakanpää is what you`d need. Big, mean, mobile and cheap.
Aquire him from the Stars and run a Top4 of:

Hakanpää-Dahlin
Samuelsson-Power

Would be pretty nasty. With all the cap next summer there is lots of moves that can be done. Forsberg, Kadri, Burakovsky comes to mind.

Hakanpaa and Adam Larsson were two guys I wanted to sign. And Hakanpaa signed stupid cheap, 3 years at 1.5.

He is only playing 15 mins a night, but if Klingberg is traded at the deadline it makes no sense for Dallas to trade Hakanpaa for anything less than an overpay (is he worth a 2nd?)

Adam Larsson's contract is a bit too much to be attractive.

Tyler Myers is having a nice bounce back year, playing with Quinn Hughes. They have good fancy stats. He could be our guy from a team needing cap space.

Savard in Montreal is having a tough year in a tough situation but for a low pick, he could bounce back here. Montreal tight to the cap.

Trouba half retained...Id give a 2nd.

And then there is that Borgen fella.

Anybody think Parayko is worth 6th overall? Cuz I do.

More interested in seeing Samuelsson brought up than Krebs. Would like to see where he fits.

I dont know if the team is thinking Fitzgerald as the 7th D and Samuelsson as 1st call-up from Rochester. That would be disappointing but maybe they know better about these things.

Dahlin - Joker
Power - Myers ( or other )
Bryson - Pysyk
Fitzgerald

But even in that case you need Samuelsson to get 40 games of NHL time to evaluate him before he loses waivers.

Hakanpää is surely worth atleast a 2nd. Signed for 2 more yrs at 1,5M. He has played on Ducks on the 1st pairing and on Canes, before Stars. Always a +player and a good hitter. With good hits he has put atleast 3 players already on IR, that says a lot of his hitting capability and his timing is good. The guy is as reliable as they come. Should be a 2,5-3M player. He is a pure shutdown guy with lots of hits and a mean side. I`d give a 2nd + prospect
Trouba is having a good year, so I doubt they retain any $

Hakanpää no fighter, but can take care of himself atleast
