If he averages 60 points per season for the remainder of his contract, he would clear 1,600 easily. I think it is a reasonable estimate, retiring with around 900 goals and 700+ assists.

With all the talk about him passing Gretzky which may or may not happen 3 or 4 seasons from now (I personally think it will) passing Gordie Howe next season will be a pretty big deal. I didn't think there would be an 800 goal scorer in this era, and starting your career at 20 and pulling that off at 37 is insanity.

They were trying to get Carlson to score a hat trick goal, which is totally fine and should take priority. Defensemen hat tricks are rare, I don’t think Carlson ever got one.

I think Ovi is due for another two goal game or even a hat trick. Caps have one more game against Arizona and Montreal.

Yeah, it was a good chance. I had a feeling that he would go to his backhand, when he was closing in, since he scored his last two shootout goals in this manner. Didn't work out unfortunately.

The ice at Cap One is really crappy at this time of the year. Puck was bouncing all over the place on that breakaway chance.

I like his backhand move a lot because it’s unexpected, but on bad quality ice, I wish he simply rifled it top corner.

If I were the NHLPA I'd be shitting bricks over the scheduling this year. I get that there was supposed to be an Olympics, but the Caps just had almost a week between games. They have had that size break a couple of times, and the league should've backfilled the schedule to eliminate all 3 games in 4 nights as soon as the Olympics was off.

He has 7 in last 10 games, and none are multi-goal games,
he could just keep going as is OR get 2-3 goal games to get there faster
