The Eastern conference currently has a combined record of 20-4-5 against Western conference teams.

I like how leaf fans on the main board were saying that Hyman and Andersen were easily replaceable. One poster even told me it would be easy to outperform Freddy. Honestly, the leafs really started to chip away at bedrock when they let those two go. I love it.

I’d argue that Andersen was replaceable. Any time you can’t be bothered to start a player in the playoffs, he’s not worth retaining (ie Tatar). Hyman is the one that creates a big hole for a team with no grit (along with Foligno who they had for a short while).

Seider qbing PP1 and teeing up Raymond. Detroit knows how to develop and will get two studs out of both. Meanwhile in Habs land....

Might want to pump the brakes there bro. Detroit hasn't made the playoffs for 5 straight seasons and haven't made it out of the first round for nearly a decade. I doubt they make it this year either.

They are rebuilding well but we'll see where they end up. They're better off continuing to be bad for a while. That's what the habs have done wrong, as soon as there is the slightest hint of success the rebuild is cancelled, win now, trade picks for bad 4th liners.

Sure. The same team that made the playoffs for 24 straight seasons and now is intentionally rebuilding. Arguably the most successful franchise of the late 90's early 00's and reknowned for their drafting and development......

I get that. But that was 20-30 years ago. Not the same management team.

That's not much different than saying the Habs know how to build a powerhouse because they were one in the 70s.

With Stevie Y at the helm and their terrific drafting + development, I have no doubt they'll be back soon. Don't have that confidence in the Habs because drafting, developing, patience and management have been shortcomings.

Matthews first game and already with his first goal. Should help a bit with the HFleafs recent meltdown.
Unless they lose. :sarcasm:

Edit: yup, I was wrong about Matthews!

Pesce victim of a hit to the head right after suffring what appears to be a nutshot.
